Our relationship with Dr. Amy Carter Myers and her staff began in 2009. At the time, we had a 6 year old, doxie. She always took wonderful care of our boy, Sid. In 2010, our Sid became ill. His body stopped producing red blood cells. Dr. Myers performed tests and administered two blood transfusions. While Sid was hospitalized, she spent many nights with him, which took away from her personal life. She and her staff kept us updated on a more than regular basis on the progress and decline of our boy's health. We were contacted prior to any new tests or treatments informing us of what the estimated cost would be. At this point, it did not matter to us. We just wished to save our boy. His health improved for one day. At which time, our parents and their dogs were able to visit Sid. Unfortunately, it was not God's will for our Sid to remain with us. Our Sid crossed the Rainbow Bridge four days after being hospitalized, by our choice. Dr. Myers and her staff were extremely kind, honest in the appropriate treatment actions, sympathetic, and understanding.

Two months later, our new doxie, Gus (age 12 weeks) made his first appearance at the clinic. Dr. Myers and her staff welcomed us with open arms. A few months later, Dr. Myers noticed a problem with our boy's eye and prescribed steroids. She referred us to a specialist in Birmingham. The specialist thought it was a nerve problem; therefore, Dr. Myers then referred us to the Auburn University College of Vet Medicine. Our boy was thoroughly examined and we were told that the treatment Dr. Myers was already providing was the top notch treatment and Gus's eye would be ok. Dr. Myers cared enough about our Gus that she noticed and acted on treatment immediately and to this day Gus has had no further issues with his eye. We are highly confident in Dr. Myers and her talented staff with our Gus. Note, that we are very protective of Gus and his well being. We want him and any animals that we have in the future to have the best quality of care. If you are looking for a vet that is a straight shooter, intelligent, caring, responsible and looking out for your pet's welfare, you should look no further than Dr. Amy Myers at River Region Vet Services. If you are not looking for those qualities in a vet, then you should look elsewhere. Ask yourself, if you were your pet would you want second rate care? I know that we would not.
