Dog had a head nod when walking, Dr Haims tried to sedate my dog in his parking lot. 2 separate injections did nothing in reference to sedating my dog. Haims said he’ll have to take my pet inside sedate intravenously and take X-rays to check for osteosarcoma and other possibilities. Took my pet inside sedated him took 5 X-rays and told me she sees nothing abnormal but he doesn’t do this all the time and he could be missing something. Asked me if I wanted him to send the X-rays to a radiologist for further evaluation. Asked him if he sees anything unusual any thing suspicious since you take bone X-rays can you recognize normal bone tissue as apart from a suspicious lesion or shadow he repeated he doesn’t do this type of evaluation very often. He gave my dog a anti inflammatory injection gave me anti inflammatory pills and surprised me with a bill for $1,500. This including against my objection a charge for the 2 failed attempts is his parking lot. He told me I have to pay even though it failed because he did the procedure. Of course I also paid for the inside his practice sedation that did work. I paid twice to have a dog sedated once. After finishing the pills and seeing no improvement in my dog I went back to Haims and asked him if Lyme disease could be the culprit, he said could be and gave me a 20 day supply of 100mg Doxycycline I told him that Veterinary sites say that Doxycycline for Lyme should be given for at least 28 or more days a lot of sites saying at least 30 days. He disagreed and sent me home. After 20 days on Doxycycline my dog had no improvement. The head nod remained for 5 months. At this time I was in Boynton Beach Florida and found a veterinary neurologist thinking of a possible neurological disorder I appeared at his office with a appointment. After a thorough exam the neurologist said he finds no orthopedic or neurological disorder but considering that I am from up North he highly suspects Lyme disease. I told him that Haims prescribed a 20 day course he replied that’s insufficient. I proceeded to give my dog a 5 week course of Doxycycline and the head nod disappeared completely and the dog was back to pre head nod perfect health. This after in my opinion throwing away $ 1,500 + dollars at Haims practice and my dog walking around in probable discomfort for many months. You decide if you want to visit this Vet.

I really appreciated how gentle and careful they were with my pet. They considered my pet's injuries, and made sure that they didn't add to any pain that my pet was in. They gave me sufficient information to make a decision about my treatment plan. They have really great customer service here. They always put their customers first, regardless of the situation. I noticed their credentials and diplomas as soon as I walked in the door. I immediately felt even more confident that I was taking my pet to someone who knew what they were talking about.
