In June 2012 I purchased a Groupon Deal for a 60 min massage at $35 (which expires Nov 22, 2012) while visiting my daughter after the birth of her twins. I didn't find time to book the massage that visit. I live in the caribbean and upon my visit late Oct 2012 I was looking forward to redeeming my massage. I called Ms. Staples Nov 1, 2012 and left a message for her to return my call so I may schedule an appt. She quickly returned my call leaving me a message saying that she can book me on a Wed, Thurs, Fri, and even some Sat's. I immediately called her back and I thanked her for her quick response I explained that I am unfamiliar with where the Flanders House where she worked was as I am here in WA visitng through Thanksgiving. She asked me if a friend referred me to her and I said "no, I bought a Groupon Deal". She asked me when it expired and I said Nov 22nd and she immediately said, "well I'm booked through the end of the month, and what would happen is if the appt is booked after the expiration date of the Groupon Deal that it would be at half the rate/time which would mean a 30 min massage." I said but her voicemail to me stated that she could book me with a wide range of options. She said that this deal was offered in June and most people who purchased the massage had plenty of time to book it. I reitterated that her voicemail clearly suggested that she could book me soon, to which she responded, "well I don't know what to tell you." I was upset with her manner. I got the definite feeling that once she learned that it was a Groupon Deal which I'm sure is at a discount off her usual rate, she didn't want to honor it. I told her that I would be calling Groupon and making a complaint. I did call Groupon and told them what happened and they were quick to refund me.
