Marcia is very good at analyzing peoples feelings and does it very well. However, that is ALL she does. A therapist is someone who is supposed to bring up unpleasant feelings that you've been repressing or unaware of, and then HELP you deal with them, through advice or counseling or some sort of therapy. Marcia DOES uncover things you're unaware of, and then refuses to give any advice or therapy on how to DEAL with those feelings in a healthy, effective way. After less than a month, I felt sad and scared, worse than without therapy, and nothing was being done to resolve or alleviate my issues. Also, in my case, she claimed that I was feeling things that I truly did not feel. I had respected her insight up to this point, but in this case, it wasn't just inaccurate, it didn't apply to me. I explained to her politely why that statement was inaccurate, and tried in many different ways to articulate my feelings, but was snapped at and told to be quiet, that I wasn't listening to her, and the quote "I don't know if stubborness and refusing to listen runs in your family, or what." after less than a month of listening to JUST my side of the story and doing nothing to help me conquer it. Never meeting my family. I ended our sessions that day. To summarize, Marcia is clever and insightful, as well as stubborn and obstinately refuses to listen to her patients. As a psychoanalyst, she excels. As a therapist or counselor, she's a hack.

Marcia is extremely professional, intelligent, has a wonderful sense of humor, but also understands the seriousness of one's situation. She is brilliant at teaching the tools necessary for healthy communication.
