I’ve been a patient for about 10 years (give or take). My depression has had moments of getting better but, with each bought worsened over the years despite following all instructions provided including doing additional treatment when prescribed. With my last episode of depression I received a text message (instead of a phone call at least) that she did not want to keep me as a patient. To receive that text during an episode of depression was not easy to say the least. I thought for many years she cared about my recovery. The last thing a person with depression wants to feel is that their own therapist has given up on them.

Heather is very thorough and really listens to what I am saying. Yes, that is her job but you'd be surprised at how many psychiatrists don't actually listen or how many I've been to who fail to really "see" me. I didn't feel like she was just trying to fit me into some textbook case or category and send me on my way with a prescription as others have done in the past.

I was very anxious to go for my initial consultation. Heather immediately put me at ease and she spent a long time with me getting to know my and my situation. I felt extremely comfortable with her and continue to with every visit. Heather is professional and knowledgeable in her field. She is very responsive to my phone calls and texts and always puts me at ease.
I am very grateful that she took me on as a client.

Heather offers perspectives which are not "cookie cutter" as well as being open to differing belief systems and modalities around how "we heal." I've had extremely positive experiences seeing her.

Good, better than most psychiatrists in my opinion. Some tendency to over-prescribe in my opinion, but that's true of most and she is more conservative than most. Very good manner, perceptive, organized, personable. Very good office assistant. Pleasant to visit.
