What a joke. He totally was off the mark. Dismissed the things that appeared in my exes personality tests and outright lies about both of us. Beware of Bernstein.

I heard the same thing as Wexford's post and my attorney insisted I get Dr. Bernstein as everyone else is late or not experienced enough. I couldn't take the risk of having someone who didn't know what they were doing with my son. I thought Dr. Bernstein was good. I don't think he is a partner, though. My attorney said there is only one or two people in charge, Dr. Rosenbloom and some other woman. Why they would have a contract with less qualified people makes no sense.

I have recently been involved in litigation where I was required to participate in a custody evaluation. The evaluator was very inexperienced and did not cover all the important issues. Although he was a nice person, it was clear that he was new to this type work. The large sum of money I had to pay in advance did not translate into the type of service one would expect.

My attorney told me that the group that has the contract for these services has struggled with timeliness and training qualified evaluators. As I was so disturbed about the poor quality and high cost, I did some research into what is going with this situation.

I discovered that Allegheny Forensics has the exclusive contract for these services in Allegheny County but no mention of them is found on the report of my evaluation. I have contacts in surrounding counties who informed me that there are four or five members of that group that make all the money and pay fee for service to the evaluators, with the group making a huge profit. I also discovered that Eric Bernstein, who apparently is a partner in the group and the most experienced evaluator of that group actually has a full time office in Butler and performs numerous custody evaluations in that county as well as others.

I do not understand how Dr. Bernstein can skim the profits of other evaluators (who apparently are unqualified) in Allegheny County and have a full time practice in other counties while the waiting list is long and apparently the complaints and problems are many in Allegheny County.
