The worst dental office I've ever been to. They told me my insurance would pay for most of the work. And never asked for payment until they sent me to collections. I tried to work with them but they would rather damage my credit then work to find a solution.

Be very careful about there billing. Or better yet find a more honest dentist.

Poor work at best. Almost every procedure had to be redone so I eventually looked for a different dentist. Now finding out that even the redone procedures were not done correctly and I'm having issues. Not getting anywhere talking to Dr Kimura. Plan on reaching out to the board and dental association. Turns out, he already has at least one malpractice judgement against him. It's public info - http://www2.dca.ca.gov, license lookup. Would not recommend him to anyone

Dr. Kimura is great. I have absolutely no issue with him. He is an excellent dentist. Very gifted.

However, one of his staff is making him look bad. She runs the front office apparently and I haven't pinpointed what her issue is just yet, but she is rude. I tend to think she either is very jealous of women or she likes to create drama. Each visit she seemed very cold, arrogant and not very accommodating. She canceled my appt for no reason, twice and then acted very arrogant about it and she "decided" I could be seen.

Then she proceeded to tell me the insurance that her prior employee told me to purchase (in her presence), was no good because she didn't read the fine line. So she said my insurance would not cover my procedure. She also said that procedure was only covered just recently, which is a lie, because it was on my brochure I had received 6 months prior. #1 She was incompetent to not advise her patients properly. The operative word here is "misled." #2 Then she makes up more excuses that make no sense whatsoever (that the procedure wasn't covered til recently). Which is nonsense, like I said because it was in the brochure and her employee told me it was (with her sitting and listening nearby).

There are some games going on here, I'm not sure what they are, but prior to this incident I was suspicious of what I was being charged, so I asked for a run down of my charges and payment. I don't trust this woman at all. Oh yea and a large bottle of whisky rolled out from under her desk.

I am wondering why the nice gal at the front is no longer there.

I like Dr. Kimura and his staff, they are all young and are working with and are familiar with the latest technology (I'm over 60). They do push the ceramic fillings, but they do look better and the work they do for crowns is perfect. They welcome questions, and know what they are talking about. We have changed insurance companies to make sure that they are on our plan.

Pros-
Dr. Kimura is great. I went to this practice for 2 years when they were remodeling, so I had to go to a few different offices, but they were not too far away. The new office is amazing, with large plasma Tv's above you when you are in the chair. My hygienist there was great, I wish I can remember name, but she always had Sports Center already on for me at her station when I would come in.

Cons-
Durring my last visit I didn't even get to see Dr. Kimura, it was someone else. I thought WTF, he is the main reason I come here. If that wasn't enough to rub me the wrong way, after I had left with no cavities and was about to get into my car, someone ran out of the office and told me I needed to come back. OK sure. I came back to get pitched ceramic fillings to replace my amalgam ones, which I had already told Dr. Kimura the last time I was in there that I felt that to be more cosmetic and did not want to pay out of my pocket for that.

I believe this to be a result of the new ownership. I had never been chased down after leaving the office in the past to discuss something that should have already been documented beforehand. In addition, I got a call several weeks later asking me if I wanted to get a quote for ceramic fillings and schedule an appointment. So annoying.

Summation-
I most certainly woud have rescheduled my appointment had I known I wasn't going to see "my" dentist. Although I understand at the end of the day they are a business, I didn't like the up-sale tactics implemented. Really, I'm almost in my car and you want me to come back in?

I haven't been back.
