The hospital staff were very disrespectful and rude. My mother was admitted for kidney disease problems and the team can’t even get on the same page on whether she will be discharged or not. She has been in the hospital for 3 days and has not even seen a doctor and has not been examined. She has been given an antibiotic IV drip. My parents have been going to this hospital for 53 years but they said this was the last time due to incompetence and rude staff. 4-5-2023 4-7-2023

Now that the hospital doesn’t think they’re at fault I’m going to tell my story and see what any nurses out there think or what would you have done December 7 my husband went in the hospital to have ankle surgery and he was suppose to be released the next day but the night of his surgery he started running fever so the doctor admitted g till Monday December 10 he ran fever off and on all weekend he never complained about his ankle hurting but he kept complaining his head hurt and his blood pressure was running high...Sunday December9 he seemed fine most of the day we watched the football game and he picked at me about the cowboys going to lose, after the game he started moving back and forth in the bed I ask if he was ok he said his chest was hurting he said it felt like someone pushing on him I heard the nurse talking by the door she was doing shift change reports with the nurse coming on duty she told him he’s probably having heat burn we both told her he never gets heart burn and he’s never complained of his chest hurting like that he was complaining his head was hurting and he felt nauseous, she gave him ice chips just his vital signs his blood pressure and heart rate was high she called the doctor and ordered tums she gave him the tums, pain meds and a bag Incase he throws up the pain meds made.him go to sleep about 330 am he woke me up because he was throwing up I called the nurse I thought she needed to know she told him the tums may have made his stomach sore I said that’s crazy I thought tums soothed your stomach he was complaining of his head hurting again she gave him pain meds and he went back to sleep at 6/30 am December 10 he woke up with his chest hurting again I called the nurse she brought him some more tums still insisting he had heart burn, he asked me to go get him some orange juice I was out of the room for about fifteen minutes when I came back in his room I thought he was asleep his breakfast tray had been brought while I was out I watched the church burning on the nurse for about five minutes than I turned around to wake him up and he was blue and cold I started screaming and everyone started running in his room and made me leave the room they finally came and told me they got his heart beating strong but he wasn’t awake yet and they’re taking him to have a heart Cath the heart doctor told me they found a blockage and put a stint in, they said he may or may not wake up in the next few days he was out of oxygen for to long so he was on life support December 12 the doctor told me I needed to decide if I wanted to do a DNR or he would go to a nursing home and live like that I knew my husband wouldn’t want to live like that, that day the hospital patient advocate came to me to have a conference with her and the doctor that was taken care of him on the floor the doctor wanted to know why I’d been given him a attitude and wanted to know what I meant when I yelled why did you order tums when he was having a heart attack he told me and my daughter that the nurse called and ordered them for the patient she didn’t say anything about chest pains, I said so if my husband would have been taken upstairs to the heart ER he would be recovering from heart surgery the doctor told me that was correct , I had several nurses ask me if he he has a heart monitor on I said know they told me a man in his sixties should have had one..December 14 my husband finally gave up and died...I’m so mad I seriously believe if the two nurses on duty cared they would have told the doctor his heart needed to be checked out. When the lady from risk management called me I told her everything I just wrote she told me that’s not true the doctor never told me anything about him dying from being without oxygen to long she said sandy the nurses told her my husband tsandyhe had heart burn that’s not true we both kept telling her he never has heart burn...

Wonderful experience! The staff is kind and compassionate and really focus on patient care. Dr. Ashley Baker is absolutely fantastic! She is kind and understanding and professional. I had been in excruciating pain for 5 years and have been to numerous physicians with no success. This hospital and staff are responsible for me being pain free for the first time I can remember. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

Was there 10 hours before I was seen. I had an acute sinus infection and was in a car wreck. They still have my blanket and say they can't find it. They have NO compassion at all. There were 2 people when I arrived there and it took 10 hours for me to be seen. I have fever, just left doctor's office and was in a car wreck. I still have chest pains that they did not address which could be from the car air bags. I will NEVER go to this hospital again, never. They are always rude with no compassion and you are always there as long as if you were at University Health Hospital or longer.
