My review is for the ER, doctor was great. But updating you on anything doesn’t really happen. My 85 year old father has been here for 6 hours. I left after 3 1/2 since he would soon go to his room. Was called by my father to come get him and take him home. Back for an hour still not in a room. It seems to be easy for them to ignore the elderly.

Terrible treatment at Condell’s ER . Cold , uncaring, would not even glance at me as they all walked past me like I wasn’t there. Repeatedly I asked for a warm blanket while I waited in a room for a bed in the REAL ER room. I was told they were t available on this side. Big lie . I just saw someone pull out a nice warm blanket from that cabinet right there 15 ft from my door . Nurse had nothing to say to me . I was left uninformed. Took lots of vials of blood. Didn’t even tell me that’s what they were doing to me until I figured it out myself because she wrapped the band around my arm so tight I pulled it off myself .l kept telling her it was too tight and she kept yanking it tighter . I escaped. When they left . I bolted.

Poor ER Service at Condell! This would be zero-0 stars, but the minimum required in most ratings is 1. After witnessing the poor care, on MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, of a family member with severe back and heart problems- it's time to step up and let others know.
There are very few, if any, medical "professionals" associated with the hands on patient care and treatment of emergency room clients. This last visit included encounters with an extremely rude and unprofessional Doctor and a nasty rude little nurse. At one point both were laughing outside the patients room- at the patient! The Doctor had the nerve to tell her that there was nothing wrong with her heart- without running any tests, barely asking any questions, not looking at her records ( which they have b/c she's had multiple surgeries there). All of this from a Doctor who isn't even a cardiologist. He overlooked the recent diagnosis of tachycardia by a REAL cardiologist!!
This ER Doctor was very comfortable in his opinion of himself and shooting down efforts of other Drs and specialists that are currently involved in her care. The theory this emergency genius shared was that since there were multiple tests done 2 weeks earlier, there could not be any changes in her condition- she was fine. Now, I'm not a doctor, but does that sound like logical care for someone presenting with new/different symptoms?!?!
A call to patient services was deemed necessary, and so her daughter made the call. That phone call resulted in the Doctor coming into the room and calling her a liar!! WOW!!! At least, after that encounter, she was given an x-Ray (ummm.?.?.?). This one diagnostic test was more than previously offered.
The staff most recently encountered were u interested in trying to help diagnose the cause of the new symptoms that resulted in this visit.
In my opinion, they disregarded existing patient records, ignored vital sign readings, displayed horrifyingly terrible behavior, and worse!!! What is sadder still is that this visit and the awful treatment were similar to her last 2 visits there!
I could continue but instead I am urging anyone who reads this to research other medical facilities in the lake count area where you may find true medical professionals. Somewhere else, where doctors and nurses are kind, caring, intelligent, compassionate and actually helpful.
Should you wind up in Condell's ER, I hope you are treated better, but to be safe I would tell the ambiance to take me to Lake Forest or Highland Park Hospital.
Condell ER is bad news!!!

The hospital is beautiful, but I wouldn't want to bring my dad back. He is 81 years old and they never got him up to walk the entire week. That was the second time that happened. He came home weaker than when he went in. Good luck finding a nurse or doctor. He was in the West Tower and left pretty much alone. He was a "fall risk" and when one of us sat in the alarmed chair and it went off......NO ONE CAME IN TO CHECK!!!!!! I was very disappointed and upset with the entire experience.

I must say I was apprehensive about having my procedure done at this hospital because of a stay I had at Condell a long time ago. I now have to say I would choose Advocate Condell Hospital over any other in the area. The staff was over the top great and the care I received was the best I have ever had. The surgeons did an outstanding job, the always friendly Nursing staff took great care of me and even the food service staff was over the top making sure I had what I needed and always friend and with a smile. You always hear people complain about their hospital stays but this is going to be one I rave to people about. Thanks for taking such good care of me.

Overall, the entire visit to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville was a mistake.

First, the ER, the doctor never finished informing us of the suspected illness or plan. She kept getting calls and walking out of the room mid-sentence. After the 2nd call, she did not come back. I had to go find a nurse to find out what was going on.

While in the ER, The patient was not provided with any blankets, urinal, or even a call button. Again, we had to go hunt down someone An NG tube used, however, the nurse put the suction to continuous, later when the patient said, “I feel like I’m getting sucked dry”, did the staff notice the mistake and change the setting. We were then informed that the patient would be admitted in the middle of the night; however, we sat there for a good 4-5 hours prior to getting a room. Once we finally got to the floor, there were plenty of open rooms, so we are not sure why it took so long.

Once we were in the room and waiting to be seen by a doctor, the IV and the NG tube were never hooked up, and the nurse said she could not do anything until a doctor came. At that time, it was around 9 am and we were told the DR. didn't do rounds until 7 pm. That was an issue as the patient has no food, water, IV, or even a phone in the room. After expressing our concerned with this, we were seen by other doctor, and they said they would take out the NG tube and the diet could be clear liquids. About another 1-1.5 hrs passed until a Nurse showed to take out the NG tube and give the patient a menu. However, Since there was no phone, couldn’t order anything, the nurse said she would find a phone, but that didn’t happen.

By that time, we were done and decided to leave. It took another hour just to print the forms to leave. Honesty, there is more that happened, but why even bother…..

I will never take any of my loved ones back to his hospital; we will seek medical treatment elsewhere.
