I was a chronic dieter for 25 years. Name a diet and I tried it. I had given up, not only on my weight, but on life in many ways. Fortunately, I stumbled across Eve's website. Eve taught me that it wasn't about food (after all I knew what to eat), but about how I had learned to use food as a coping tool in so many ways. Honestly, I was scared to go on another restrictive diet, but I was so surprised, that we never went there. I'll never forget our first session, when she told me that she was going to train me to become my own nutritional expert, that eventually, I wouldn't need a dietitian, that in a sense I would become my own. I thought she was crazy, how would that be possible, and why would she want to put herself out of business! But she was so right. Quickly, I became a student of my own body. After years of judging my body and being abusive to it in so many ways, I became a student, an observer, and in doing so, the judgement left and a more objective voice arrived, eventually that voice turned into a more nurturing one and now today - a more loving one. Today, I listen to my body, I listen to my hunger, I feed my body the food that it needs and craves. I rarely weigh myself (it has become about so much more for me), but I have lost a 1/3rd of my former body weight. In addition, and best of all, I have learned to listen to my heart, which has helped me listen more to life and me. Every program I had been in, treated me as my weight, Eve treated me as myself.
