I do think Dr. Baker cares, but I feel they are overworked and understaffed. You feel like you are on a conveyor belt. They don't take the time to review previous records. They have lost the vision of pet care.
I switched to Heritage Vet in Cooperstown. They are wonderful. You can actually get an appointment there with caring professionals.

thank you to the veterinarians and staff of Community Veterinary Center for the care that they gave to Louie, our American Eski 11 year old dog. Drs. Ingraham and Ostrander diagnosed Louie's terminal brain tumor so that we could make the decision with Dr Grote to relieve Louie from the inevitable pain of continual seizures and bring him peacefully to quiet. She came into the office after hours for our emergency call and helped us through a very hard but loving decision. We will always be greatful for the care that the center gave Louie. They tried every test and option for treatment but they knew when to support a decision to end life in a painfree way. We are so grateful.

They are cold and rude. I left them years ago. Their board faculity is filthy and my dog came out with a bad UTI thank God we have another Vet here that cares. A friend tooka cat there in bad shape they turned her away because of no appointment she called me sent her to the other Vet Hospital they took the cat right away stayed up all night with it and the cat, barely alive is now doing well and happy. This is not a place i would take a dead animal.

The main issue with large contemporary veterinary operations,is that if you do not find a good vet from the start, you have to wade through the staff to se if there is one you can work with.To that end,Dr Sara Grote is very knowledgeable, compassionate, intelligent and well skilled. The management of the facility, particularly the front end(reception, billing & scheduling) is a train wreck. The reception staff is either eating, whining about personal problems with their co-workers,most often cold and impersonal upon arrival. There are other issues with scheduling and time management in this practice as well.I would not drive out of my way to get here, but if you're local and need a vet,it's okay

Dr. Leahy is incompetent. I brought my dog in when he was in shock and he didn't recognize any of the signs. The dogs gums were pale, he was shivering, his heart rate was elevated. Dr. Leahy said is was just a stomach thing and the dog was nervous and wanted to go home. He gave him IV fluid and said he was dehydrated (HE WAS NOT!) As we got up to leave (5 hours later) my dog bled at least a pint of blood all over the floor - the DR. never got off his stool as we frantically asked him to help. Eventually he gave the dog Vit K (too late to do anything) handed us 2 towels and dismissed us to Cornell - a 2 hour car ride. We never made it my dog bled out and died in my arms. Died of DIC. I guess Dr. did want another death on his record. This was a healthy 12 yr "puppy". . - DO NOT GO TO THIS VET - I URGE YOU!
