I've been with MV for 30 yrs. They're excellent at a reasonable fee. The Drs. Are polite, knowledge, and professional.
The front desk depending on who it is. They can be wonderful or depressed or angry.
I recommend MV without hesitation.

I went to Mattatuck Animal Hospital for a second opinion on a service that the Cheshire Animal Hospital wanted to do on my Toy Pomerian of which The Cheshire Vet only seemed as if it were all about the money. The vet was not my usual ordinary vet and when I asked about her and told them I wanted her they kept saying she was not available at that time. The other vet called me and said are you going to have Jesse do the procedure or not and when I said I'd rather have her usual vet to it I was told she was no longer with the Cheshire Animal Hospital. Mattatuck did not see anything wrong with Jesse (My Pomerian), especially what Cheshire wanted to do for $800 to fix Jesse. Jesse had started to not eat or drink yet she was as lovable as always and occasionally would cry out in pain. After the Mattatuck Vet Checked Jesses out and did not have the same findings as the Cheshire Vet he agreed with me that she did not need the procedure that was recommended by the Cheshire Vet. And I said yet she cries out in pain what could be wrong with her. After I told him how she would cry out in pain he checked out her legs and pulled quickly on her left leg and it made the sound of a knuckle cracking as her left knee was out of joint!!! And $55 dollars later Jesse was all set and has not cried out again and is back to her lovely cute mischievous self. Thank you Mattatuck.

Normally I would write wonderful reviews as I had a good experience in the past. This has changed. Today I called to schedule my dog for an Xray as per the doctors advise. On my last visit with the vet he indicated my dog could still have stones if she continued with her issues. He said after my last visit "Not now, but when you are financially able to, bring her in for an xray". Yesterday my dog began the same problem and urinating blood. I called today to schedule the xray and was told I could not as he saw her last in January. Then they transferred me to another staff member who kept saying do I want to schedule her in the end of June and whenever I would say she is bleeding in her urine and you want me to wait til the end of the month, she said or you can schedule an appointment and they can schedule an xray then. So then If I spend more money on the visit they will book her sooner for the xray. Then when I asked that, she yelled at me on the phone. I just find it hard to believe that you are an animal hospital and do not care that my dog is urinating blood or attempting to schedule her for an emergency xray. Im going by what the vet said. You would think if there was a limit in time he would have mention that. I am very frustrated. Now to book someplace else as an emergency to pay the visit and again not have the money to pay the xray and still not know what is going on with my dog. Thank you Mattatuck Animal Hospital for a frustrating experience and not showing any care. 06/09/16
