I was out of town when my small dog was brought here after something got stuck in his throat at the boarding facility. The veterinarian was friendly enough and kept me updated on my dog's status (even though he had the wrong phone number, they told me he called and left a few voicemails). Their pricing seemed to me to be a little overpriced. I did some research on the web about what to expect. Individually, the things they did to my dog weren't too expensive, but it added up. The endoscopy, IV, and anesthesia were the bulk of the ~$900 bill. I was able to do a payment plan, so I didn't have to pay it all at once.

However, I do have a pretty large complaint. I had been away all weekend and just getting updates via voicemail and through phone calls while I was trying to fly home and had not seen my dog in 2 days. All I wanted to do was see my dog and see that he was ok, but they didn't bring him out until after I paid the bill. I asked several times over the phone and again when I got to the facility to get an estimate on cost, but they didn't tell me. They also just told me the final price and didn't let me see the breakdown until after I signed everything. I'm sure I could have pushed a little harder, but I was exhausted and worried.

I would really only recommend this place in extreme emergency. They did a good job, but there were several fees (afterhours/weekend) and I had to pay for the exam (which I get for free withusual vet services). In my case, I was pleased with their services because they saved my dog's life. I just wish they had been a little more upfront about the cost.

I took my Miniature Dachshund Cooper, there last weekend. I woke up his eye was about to bulge out of his head. I took him right over to the River Vet emergency clinic I tech immediately came out and once I told her what I thought, she immediately took Cooper back to get him seen. I wasn't with him whole time but I would rather them take care of my dog first and then let me know what's going on. I would have just been in there way. She kept coming out giving me updates. After a while they let me know what they were doing and that Cooper had gotten into Rat Poison. They were doing blood work and giving him plasma because his blood, absolutely would not clot. He stayed over night, I got to see him before we left! A got a call the next morning Cooper was going to live!! The staff is very caring and friendly in an emergency situation. I would take my dogs NO WHERE ELSE!!! They rock!

I would highly recommend this ER clinic. It is because of them that my labrador retriever is still alive and well after his crisis. I am grateful for all of them.

I would NOT recommend this Clinic to anyone. I had to look for a place for my German Shepherd to have leg surgery. The first meeting went very well in my opinion. Dr. James was the doctor that was going to do the surgery. There was a possibility of a second surgery on the leg pending the condition of the leg after the first. I paid $ for the first surgery, and was told that amount included everything future xrays, bandages, surgery and visits. After surgery Scarlet, my German Shepherd did very well. After a month of going there for weekly bandage changes Dr. James told me I could go to my regular vet (Shallowford Animal Hospital) for bandage changes if it was more convenient, which it was. He said nothing about any charges if I went to my regular vet. Today I took Scarlet to my regular vet for the bandage change. My vet told me her arm was so dirty they needed to sedate her so they could scrub her arm to get all the junk off. I could hear my dog crying and yipping before that so obviously I agreed because it was too painful for her to be awake during. My bill was $, after my discount for being a member there and removal of the bandage fee because I explained I was never told about a charge. Clearly RIVER Vet Emergency Clinic did not or has not been cleaning my dog's arm during a bandage change. Not only was it filthy it was very red and irritated. RIVER refused to reimburse me the $ for the sedation. I will never give River Vet Clinic anymore of my business.

I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment because they handle emergencies cases on a regular basis. I thought their pricing was very fair considering we needed help right away (of course emergencies only happen on week ends). Please remember, if you go, they handle patients according to seriousness...so if you have to wait, please understand this is GOOD news. The veterinarians (especially Dr. Sullivan and Meagan) and staff are extremely friendly and treat pets as if they are a part of the family (the part of the family you like). They work long and hard...only love of what you are doing can keep you going like they do. These guys are the "Seal Team Six" of pet emergencies.

In recent past, the EAC of C took very good care of our injured dog, including putting him "to sleep" in a humane way. The entire staff was very considerate, and seemed to be aware of how distressing the situation was for me.
More recently, staff was very helpful in caring for our daughter's sick cat.
Seem to be in business for all the right reasons!
Thank you!

They are an absolute expert in the field. I would never feel unsafe or apprehensive in their care. If I were in need of a kennel for my pet I would definitely take them here. The kennels and holding areas in their office were some of the cleanest I have ever seen. I am always so impressed with how quickly my calls are answered here. I am never put on hold for a long time and love knowing that if I have a quick question I won't have to wait a half hour through terrible music to get it answered.
