Now after having read some awful reviews of this place it has scared me into not wanting to go back, but my experience wasn't a bad one. One day I was driving into my drive way and my cat ran underneath my car and I ran over her. It was a pretty tragic event, not only was my cat run over, but I was the one who didn't. Anyways, I took her to the animal emergency center and they led me to a room right away. I did have to wait about 5-10 minutes till the doctor came in and then took her in the back. After 20-30 minutes the doctor came out and told me what was wrong with her and that she would have to stay there for a couple of days. Then they gave me the bill. This was the only part I was irritated with. It was for over $500. She explained what all the charges were for and I asked what the miscellaneous charges meant and she said it was for what they might need. I was still kind of in shock and couldn't think very well so I asked if I could pay half now and half when I came to pick her up they said yes and I paid $250. When I came back apparently they didn't use all those "miscellaneous" so I ended up only needed to pay a little over $100. So I guess if I can offer any advise it would be to pay half and half so maybe you won't be handing them money for nothing.

do not go!!! They know when you come your in shock.. and they take advantage of it. I knew my cat was dying and went to have her put out of pain. Two dogs had just attacked her... and the same dogs have killed other cats. They said she was just fine.. just needed IV for the shock. Hundreds of dollars latter and a phone call.. she was gone. They made us feel so sure she would be okay that my son is still waiting for a phone call saying they were just joking come and get her. Over a week later and we are still in shock of the entire event and their lies!

‎"Animal Emergency" ...Yeah, right. False advertising of the worst kind!

Around 10pm on Sunday 21 October, I found a conscious yet seriously injured young cat in the road. It was in shock, bleeding from the mouth, and seemed paralyzed in the back legs.

I did not necessarily want to save this cat. I am not in the position to adopt another animal and I do not have the money for expensive medical treatments. However, there is NO excuse in letting an animal suffer a painful death in the street. With this in mind, I drove the short distance to The Animal Emergency Center on Manchester Expressway.

When I arrived, there was no one in the lobby or at the front desk. I had to loudly yell "Hello!" about five times before a young woman came out from the back. I explained how I found this cat bleeding and in shock. I also made the mistake of saying that I do not have money for treatment, but the cat should be taken out of its suffering. The young woman immediately told me that she could not help me. She never even looked at the cat. I asked her if she had a cardboard box to put the cat in, since it was struggling and bleeding all over my lap. She said, "sorry." She told me to call Animal Control. I thought Animal Control closed at 5pm. I pleaded with her to call for me since, obviously, I had my hands full. She at least did that and said Animal Control was coming to pick up the cat. I looked at this young woman and asked, "No one will even look at this suffering animal because I said I have no money?" She looked at me and literally walked out of the room without a word!

I waited about ten minutes before an older woman in scrubs walked into the building. I told her the whole story. She never looked at the cat, either. A man who was a customer brought me a cardboard box from his truck. At that same time, Animal Control called back and said that they are NOT coming to pick up the cat. I was told to take it myself. So, this cat suffered, bleeding and in shock, inside The Animal Emergency Clinic for about twenty minutes. I told the young woman, "Thanks for nothing." And she cheerfully replied, " You're welcome!"

I needed to board my dogs last minute. One of my dogs was due for a rabbies vaccine but I couldn't get in soon enough to our regular vet. They took my dog and are getting her up to date on shots while she's boarded. What a relief!
