I have been a client in some capacity since they opened. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets. The staff is amazing, even with the "not so easy to deal with" animals.

Dragging his body down the hall, my cat came to me because he knew it was time to say goodbye. With his last breath, he died in my arms as I cried in agony of feeling so sorry for the choice I made. He gave me years of attention, laughter, and love. He trusted me with his life and if I had only known, I would of never allowed a vet to make choices for my cat as I did with this vet. I trusted Shelley Hoffman because she was a doctor, but by her giving my older cat a second distemper, it ended his life.

On Friday 10-12-2012 I called their office and said that my dog Angus was no longer able to get up, nor was he eating or drinking, that he was just lying down and had an irregular breathing pattern. I requested to bring him in so that he could be put to sleep, and was told by whomever the receptionist was that not only were there no appointments available, but there were no doctors available, and that “The best we can do is Saturday at 12 noon, and that there would be a tech to perform the task of putting him to sleep.” That meant this poor dog, who was 13 years old, and who had been a patient of your business for his entire life was supposed to lie in such a condition until you folks could squeeze him into the Saturday schedule. That night, we had to take him to another animal hospital to have him put down. When I explained why we were calling, they told us to bring him in right away, and if we were going to take him home to bury and Angus could not make it into the building, they would do the procedure in the truck.
What makes this hard is that we have been with your group practically since you opened. All our dogs, Angus, Flynn, and Spike have been loyal patients as have we. We never thought of leaving or going elsewhere, even though we now live in Stephenson. That is our disappointment with your company and the lack of compassion for not only Angus, but for his family, who was in the process of having to lose a valued member. It seems that being loyal to the people and animals that have trusted you and your group over the years is of little value or importance. The values you showed when you first opened up have over the years, and sold us on your group, have, for whatever reason, have seemingly eroded.
I usually do not write letters or complain, but this situation truly caused me to think about the value of Angus to us, and the little value you had for Angus. How, what is important to some may not be a priority to others. That another animal hospital, sensing our hurt and sadness, and who did not know us from Adam, nor was obliged to take us in, treated us and Angus as if we were part of their family, allowing us to stay with him as long as was necessary to say our goodbyes.
To say they will now have our business and loyalty is a great understatement.
