Dr. Trexler-Myren responded to my request to assist an owl which I released from a barb wire fence. I met her at her office on a Saturday where she carefully and expertly examined the bird's damaged wing then placed it in a confined area away from animals which might have disturbed this injured bird.

She informed me that a light sedative would be administered then food and water provided that day. She would evaluate it's health and recovery then release it when the bird had recovered. She said there were no charges but a donation to OATHE Wildlife Center would be appreciated. I happily wrote a check.

Having over forty years as a medical professional myself I was impressed by Dr. Trexler-Myren's professionalism, demeanor, concern for the bird (short ear owl) and willingness to provide me with her evaluation and future plans for the owl.

Four days later I contacted her clinic to learn the owl had recovered and had been released in nearby grasslands to fly and hunt again. Mission accomplished.
