I used to like going there to have my dogs checked, but I recently had a very bad experience. I feel that the vet was very much an alarmist and did not give me any options as to the course of treatment for my dog. On that day I spent $200 for a blood test and a vitamin shot. The next day, she "needed" an x-ray which cost $400 and supposedly needed a blood transfusion, and if i didn't take her she would have "perished." When I asked the vet how much it would be he said "whatever it is"
Obviously, I decided to get a second opinion. She was given a course of treatment which she has positively responded to up to this day!

The funny thing is that AS OF TODAY I have not heard from Sunrise Animal Hospital. No one has called or asked to see how my dog is doing or even bothered to ask if she had the transfusion at all. Obviously, this was just a business transaction. Very poor communication with the pet owner. The other vet called my house on Easter Sunday to find out how she was doing. I am very disappointed because I thought they genuinely cared for our dogs. But obviously is was just business as usual. As pet parents we want the best for them, and this was a terrible disappointment. Will never go back there or recommend it to anyone else! We are hard working people who cannot be expected to just pay that kind of money! I will do whatever I need to keep my dog healthy but this vet just wanted the $$$. He didn't do anything for her.

My cat had been sick and was throwing up for a few days. Concerned I called to schedule an appointment with the vet. Instead of making an appointment, they told me to rush down immediately in the middle of the day as it was an emergency. Worried, I left work, went home and hurried over. I then waited in an empty waiting room for well over an hour. When I went to see the vet, he briefly examine my cat. He noted she appeared healthy, but did have a slight fever (very slight, about 1 degree). He then recommends a whole litany of tests including x-rays and blood work and overnight observation. I should have just left right there,but again I was told this was an emergency and I wanted to make sure my cat was ok. I get an initial price which was about $730. This was upsetting and I asked if it was necessary. The receptionist said I need to get the blood work and x rays done. I yield because once again, I want to make sure my cat is ok.

A half hour goes by and everything comes back normal. I am giving some pills to give my cat to coat her stomach so she can digest food more easily. All the other procedures cost over $400.

Why was I not given the $4.00 pills initially and asked to come back if her condition worsened. She was healthy, active with no other problems other than she had been throwing up recently.

I paid an exorbitant amount of money to be told very little.

No, they've never taken personal calls with me

Not at all, they had plenty of staff members to help me whenever I needed assistance

Yes, I thought it was fair

Not at all, they are always so organized here with making sure the vet is never too overwhelmed to ensure the best service

I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. They're always able to answer simple questions over the phone. They only make me schedule appointments if necessary. They've stayed open past their closing times many times when I've needed help. They've never turned me away when I've needed them.
