I took my cat on a Sunday at 5pm because she was yelping with pain, cold, disoriented, weak and vomiting. We waited 20 minutes to be able to get a room and although the clinic was empty, we still had to wait another 15-20min to see the actual vet.

The consultation by itself was $110. The bald vet deduced that the cat could have anything and that we should do 2 types of blood test, a fecal test and x-rays (in case she had something lodged in her trachea). After another 15min a tech came with a quote for $900 to over $1000 for the diagnosis ALONE, clearly excluding any actual treatment.
Not to mention that whilst I discussed the prices with my mother, 3 times the tech interrupted us because he needed to know whether he would take samples because his sole concern was the welfare of the patient.
Such a blatant pressure tactic was the last straw. Somehow one HOUR after my cat entered the clinic there was a gargantuan urgency to see what her ailment was, even though the front desk took 20 min to give the cat a room after they were finished with their vapid chit-chat, the vet took another 20 min to decide out of pure whim when he felt like taking a look at the cat and the tech took another 15 min to come up with an estimate of the costs. So clearly, the only one that was in a rush was I, in order to quit asking questions and put out the credit card. Not to mention that it is completely out of place for the tech to insinuate that I care more about money than my pet's welfare, since I rushed out of the house on a Sunday to find the only open clinic in town, at the first sign my 2 year old cat had pain.

I was more than disappointing with the service of this clinic. I spent $110 to get a vet's opinion that the cat could have anything as if that wasn't obvious! Bluntly put, unless the cat miraculously begins to talk and describe its symptoms or an obvious incident such as a car hits it, the initial consultation doesn't really give much insight. More so than anything, I was disappointed with the wait which was nerve-wracking, a waste of time and completely disrespectful since I am coming on a Sunday because I felt my cat needed urgent treatment.

The bill itself was highly suspicious. Fluids amounted to $99. Three x-rays were required for a 16in long cat with each x-ray at a cost of $40. There was a fee for an x-ray CONSULTATION and an x-ray INTERPRETATION at a cost of $50 each. The imbecile tech was of course unable to answer ANY questions because as he said himself, he didn't work well with numbers. There were two injection fees for one at $35 and another for more. What they were for remains an enigma, since the cat's diagnostic was undetermined and the bill did not include any treatment.

I went the next day to my vet at A.S.I.S and for $240 I got fluids, consultation, blood work, fecal test and an overnight stay minus the x-rays (which I can do at some other point if blood work is inconclusive). For $1000, the only thing that Knowles clinic offered was a diagnostic and fluids.

The service in this clinic can be adequately summarized as awful.
The betrayal of the trust an owner puts in the vets of the Knowles clinic is completely unethical.
This clinic profits on abusing owners that love and fear for the health of their pets. Not to mention that the monetary scam can very well be translated to the actual diagnosis and treatment of your pet since clearly the vets and the staff are completely unethical and their sole drive is greed.

I left the clinic after I paid the consultation because I felt like the matter was perhaps not as grave as I had initially feared. I am glad that my cat felt better and I had the opportunity to go to the vet the next day (she was able to eat and sleep well through the night). I honestly hope that a lot of people can avoid this clinic for trifles. Otherwise if for the terrible circumstance your pet is extremely ill, not only will you be undoubtedly pillaged but the treatment itself might be questionable. Good luck and best wishes.

When your pet had to stay in overnight care did this veterinarian call you with follow-ups when they promised they would?
Absolutely, they usually call more times than they say they promised. I was fully informed the whole time.
Did this provider ever take personal phone calls while in the appointment room with you?
No, they've never taken personal calls with me

Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. They were very available for an emergency visit I needed. They were very thorough in treatment to my pet, and understanding, and I believe saved my pets life with the information they acquired through their examining and testing results. However they are a bit pricey.
