In the past, I would have rated this store and their staff as tops for selling local and quality organic food products. That's all changed since. Recently on close examination of ingredients listed on several ready to eat and packaged foods, genetically modified oils and ingredients are now included and marketed as being organic.
Moreover, it has become a regular occurrence at this store to watch cashiers at the checkout lines open a customer's sealed food products then place their bare hands directly on the products for "examination." In light of the recent food recalls and regulations for food handling, why would anyone put their bare hands on a food product in the checkout line if the deli department folks in the same store wear.... plastic gloves to handle prepared foods?
Next stop, local farmer's markets are on my list, not New Morning "natural and organic" Foods.
