My grandmother who has dementia is in her last weeks in a memory facility. The doctor at the memory facility called in Bon Secours hospice to ease her anxiety and fears at the end of her life. She had stopped eating/drinking, taking medications and sleeping. I met with the nurse and social worker to assess my grandmother's needs and whether or not she qualified for hospice. Both of the representatives aforementioned agreed with her doctor that hospice needed to step in to help comfort her. When the nurse representing Bon Secours called to get approval to admit her, the Nurse practitioner on the phone denied her admission. She refused to state a reason. The nurse on site as well as the social worker were shocked and deeply saddened. They were kind enough to offer suggestions for other hospice programs and assured us that she would easily be accepted. This is appalling to me. Clearly they don't value lie or have any since of humanity. Good help to those in need, not likely!

Yes, they made me feel like I shouldn't have called
Were the staff members able to answer your questions?
Every time I asked the staff a question, they referred me to someone else
Was this provider's office easy to locate?
I got lost, but eventually found it
Does this provider treat every client equally?
No, they definitely favor certain clients
Did this provider listen to your input and concerns?
No. I wasn't listened to at all!
