I had been turned off the first one or two acupunctures I had about 10 years ago by someone else whom I'd not recommend. My pain management doctor recommended this acupuncturist and eventually, I took up the suggestion and that was a year ago and I've been going faithfully ever since!! I have never missed an appointment (which is rare for me) and I recommend Joyce whenever I get an opportunity (another rarity as I tend not to talk about doctors as I find so few to be worthy of significant praise, but this acupuncturist, Joyce Chang, is A #1 in my book!! She has helped decrease my sciatica pain to the point that I can sit for a decent amount of time on most surfaces, walk up my back steps into my house (all of two steps) and function enough that I am not in screaming pain with ridiculous limitations. Joyce has also alleviated pinched nerves, muscle spasms (both on the instant the needle - very thin - was inserted) and has even helped me with decreasing the pain in my (bi-lateral) elbows - I have both golfer's and tennis elbow - bad enough to warrant surgery, but Joyce has managed to keep the pain down enough that I can do most of my daily chores without screaming from lifting, bending, etc.. my elbows... I also was amazed that after a few treatments, Joyce had been successful in eliminating the cracking in my neck! Amazing as this all sounds, it is VERY true!! I didn't think all this was possible... and knew that I had to give acupuncture a reasonable and fair try if I were to see any success. Joyce spent a lot of time with me on my initial visit and went over my medical history very thoroughly. She was careful in listening to all of what I had to say, not just some... and quickly became comfortable with me as a patient and learned what helped and what didn't help. Acupuncture is the only eastern medicine that I have had success with and would highly recommend! And, I would only recommend acupuncture from someone trained and certified in it from China or Chinese learned schools, as Joyce has been educated in CHina (her home country). Joyce is also very personable and easy to understand and get along with... comfortable to talk to... she cares very much about her patients.
