The owner did my hair for the first time and I was pleased with my micro braids. She charged me by the amount of hair I had and the price for micro braids started at $150. She charged me $190 which was great because braids are usually higher elsewhere. She was very friendly and did my hair all by herself. She said she had other staff but it was only her that day which was fine because she braided my hair in a good pace and my hair turned out very pretty. I enjoyed getting my hair done by Bintu and I wouldn't mind going back if I ever wanted to get my hair done again! Other people really liked my hair and a lady at my job asked where I got my hair done and I let her know that I got my hair done here. She also gave me two cards with $10 off next time I come. I liked the service and I think that other people will too! Thank you again Bintu. You're awesome!

Did this stylist ever take personal phone calls during your beauty treatment?
Yes! They took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

OK, i've been to african hair shops before so I pretty much know what to expect...the loud talking in french, sometimes rudeness, over priced, and them taking forever to do something that should take far less time. I made an appointment and the lady on the phone seemed VERY pleasant and quoted me $180 after i specifically TOLD her the size style and length i wanted. I brought $20 extra because i know how these people are. They don't realize that a set price is a set price. You can't be like " ugh this style is taking forever so u pay me more". My appt was 10AM. I got there on time...the salon was still closed so i waited in my car. I asked my husband ( all 6 ft 4 270lbs of him) to stay in the car case these people were rude and i wanted to leave. SO finally the lady shows and i told her what i wanted and was told $180, she got quiet...and told me to have a seat. I gave her my yarn and she complained that my hair wasn't pressed..ive NEVER heard tell of that before. Then she gets started on 1 braid and says in a thick accent " $180 isnt enough, this is alot of work, y she tell you only $180". I responded to her...this is what i was told and that is what i have. She calls someone on her cell and argues in african...then says " this person wants to speak to you" so i talked to this lady on the phone, she was rude and loud saying i should pay more because its alot of work etc. I became furious and stated, look i offered to pay her $20 extra but this is what i was quoted. The lady asked if i wanted the braids past my ears. I stated OF COURSE! My own hair is longer than that. The braider could tell that this was going down hill and didnt want me on the phone any longer. I told her that I will find someone else since this is obviously a problem. Mind you I am 6 mos pregnant and only 5ft tall and 111 lbs so if an altercation were to take place it wouldnt be a fair match. She then changed her tone and wanted to do it for $200. I stated no, i dont feel comfortable sitting here for 6 hrs after all this. She stated she got out of bed for this and deserved to be paid for the hour. I told her NO, i offered her $20 for the 1 braid she did do but she refused and wouldnt give me back my hair either. I went outside and got my husband. And he made it obvious that we were LEAVING. I got in the car and looked...the lady did a 2 strand twist NOT even a braid which i was there for, and it was SHORT because she was TOO lazy to do what she was being paid for. SAVE your $$$$ and don't pay these people up front. If you're a single lady bring someone with you for your own sake. Ive always been to shy to walk out and its always resulted in a bad hair do, being taken for more $$$$, and an over all bad experience...so take my advice dont go here AND if you have to..WALK out.. you dont OWE them a cent unless they perform the service
