I had the worst experience I've ever had at any salon! This was the first time I'd been here and I chose it based on the stylist's website that claimed she knew color well. She boasted of 20 years experience. I started out blonde & we decided to color it. The stylist showed me a swatch of hair and we decided on the color, which was a light brown. It came out EXTREMELY dark and looked black underneath. She threw a few quick highlights in and gave me a quick shoddy haircut with horrible layers. And she was on to the next customer. I went home looking like I had on a wig, the color was horrible with my skin, and my haircut was bad. I ended up at another salon in town and had to pay to have the mess fixed. The stylist that fixed me couldn't even figure out what' Identity' was trying to do and said my hair was 1 inch longer on one side. This all sounds like exaggeration...it's not at all. I had to completely have my color stripped and hair cut by someone who truly knows hair. Since I'm not going to lump all of Identity staff into this review, I have to name names....I wouldn't suggest going to Karla. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. The staff was nice, but that's really irrelevant if you leave having bad hair.

I am a frequent visitor of Identity on Congaree. This salon is always clean and everyone that works here is MORE than friendly. I've never been without being asked if I needed anything- you can obviously see that they want to make you comfortable. With that being said, please do not consider one stylist 'negative' ratings a reflection of the entire salon. Each stylist has their own room and runs completely different businesses. Unfortunately, one dud doesn't make them all duds.

I was unhappy with my last stylist and decided to try something new so I bought a Groupon that was for a cut and highlights, the redeemable price was $150.00.... I ended up paying another $80.00. For a total of $230.00 for my hair...WTF. My overall color is nice, the highlights are blotchy and uneven, I can't even see them on the one side of my head. Haircut, I say what haircut? My end where trimmed, and my bangs where cut uneven...My layers were not touched at all. What a shame. And the worst part is I am heading out of town today...I did contact the stylist Bonnie who informed me all the charges are alacarte. Where are we at a 10 star resturant... I am very dissapointed and will not recommend Identity to anyone not even my poodle. What a waste of time and Money...Sadly, Lesson Learned....

I thought buying a Groupon for a cut and color wouldn't be terrible. I've actually bought a couple before and it turned out really nice. NOT this time. Bonnie was the stylist name and she's not great. It looks like the stylist are set up independently in different rooms, Bonnies room was outdated and dirty. Her products were out of date and her scissors were visible dull. I was hoping after our consultation that everything would look great. It didn't. My highlights were uneven and my cut was one solid length. My advice is to save your money and DON'T GO TO BONNIE!!

I bought the all over hair color and cut groupon with Bonnie. I have medium length hair if falls below my chin at the neck I had her to cut 11/2 -2 inches off , she kept trying to sell me more than the groupon , gloss etc she said it would be 75.00 more I said no thanks, I just wanted the groupon.she said because of the length of my hair she would have to charge me more, I asked why was it due to the all over color she sai no it was the hair cut. She charged me 40.00 more, I felt cheated and that she had taken advantage of me I have never been charged like this from anySalon , when I left I checked with several other people and the all said that was not right I have a medium length bob.my groupon was a 99.00 value that I was charged 40.00 more.

Bonnie wasn't professional at all. As soon I came for my appointment she was talking to the receptionist , and made no effort to help me. There is no way I would ever go back there. I had an absolutely horrible experience. I bought a Groupon for color, haircut and style and she told me that I have different colors in my hair... So is better if I ask for a refund... Really??? After I went waste my time and gas.... If you see a Groupon for Bonnie, don't waste your time and money!!!
