I was in Jc pennys salon before . It was about six months ago . I women named Kathy Phillips did my hair . I can say she didnt do a very good job She had a bad addittude . I also heard her gossiping in a bad way about some other client she had before me ,which I found to be very unprofessional . I have been here thought the years on and off and I can say I will not go here again . Very unprofessional .

Absolutely. The stylist was very careful to make sure I stayed completely dry.

First, I must be fair and say that I did go into the salon appointment with a challenging request; color correction on 2 foot long hair. After an at home mishap, my bangs and the underside layer of my hair were a dark green. However, their website brags that they can fix almost anything, so I felt saved. That being said, I had an extremely difficult time trying to get an appointment with them.The salon never looks terribly busy when I walk by in the mall, so I called the day before to make the appointment. I had never had an issue with the salon before so naturally I didn't take the receptionist's name that 'made' my appointment. We had a five minute conversation about what I needed and my tight schedule, but she assured me that they could fit me in if I came right at 9 AM the following day. The phone record is still in my call history, which I showed to the other receptionist which I will discuss here shortly. I was enthralled, especially because she seemed receptive to my situation. I showed up the next morning, waiting at the locked door for 15 minutes to no avail. My husband was with me and checked their website on his phone, which stated they did not open until 10 AM. I was furious and felt dumb, but still we came back at 10 in hopes that there was just a misunderstanding. After explaining the situation to the receptionist, she looked at me with the most dumb founded look, and said there was no record of an appointment ever being made. She was not necessarily rude, but made me feel like I was an inch tall. She had a 'consultant' come look at my hair, who literally laughed out loud at it, and said I could "try Dawn dish soap to pull the green out, if I wanted." Needless to say, I was furious and vowed to never come back to that salon again, but later that day a different stylist did call and knew the details of my problem, so the receptionist must have noted my peeved expression as I left the salon. The color specialist who called made sure that I knew she was doing me all kinds of 'favors' by fitting me into to her oh-so busy schedule (i.e. skipping a lunch break), which I appreciated but also felt was unprofessional to note.

The following day I went to the appointment. She always made sure that I wasn't in any pain, which is a potential issue especially for chemical processing (and I did have a lot of that). However, she continually told me how much I had screwed my hair up by dying it in the first place, told me not to get "too cocky" about how my hair was going to turn out because she didn't know if it would work or not, and dismissed literally every attempt I made at small talk. I'm sorry, but if I have to sit in close proximity with a complete stranger for 3 hours I'm going to try to make it comfortable. Additionally, while she was blow drying my hair she proceeded to tell me how bad I needed a trim, and told me not to try to do that myself as well (with no hint of humor in her tone). I told her I would go ahead and hold off, seeing as being in her presence had all but driven me insane, and wrapped up the appointment.

All in all, I will admit that I have never had any disappointments due to the quality of work performed at this salon, BUT if you value customer service/bedside manner/common courtesy/basic human kindness at all, I do NOT recommend this salon. I do not plan on going back.
