I will never go back to this doctor. He is very unprofessional. Does not return phone calls, e-mails or faxes, even when he asks you to send him information. He always runs late. His staff operates like a group of juveniles. His facility is pitiful.

But most of all, I believe his level of care is substandard. All he did for me was take my insurance payments, has re-write prescriptions from my previous doctor. He made no evaluations, no corrective measures, no decisions on his own.

He did order some tests for me. I had to call the testing facility, they asked me for the RX to do the tests. They tried for 9 days to get Gr. Hawkins's office to answer the phone to get the orders. After the tests were run, they tried for 4 days to get Dr. Hawkin's fax to pick-up. Then two days later faxed it again as they said they never received the fax. Then when I call to see if the results were in, they had no knowledge of them. So I had the testing facility fax me the results. I had them in 2 minutes. Dr. Hawkins promised to call with the results the minute they hit his in-box. That was a month ago, and I have had the results personally for 2 weeks. He has yet to call even though I have called, faxed and e-mailed him to discuss the results.

I have changed doctors.

A friend recommended Dr.Hawkins to me, she had great insurance, and I have Medicaid. I saved my $ 200.00 to be exact, out of desperation. He was kind and helpful to my friend, giving her samples, calling her back, etc. The minute Dr.Hawkins found out that I did not have insurance the entire mood of the session changed. I asked him to please not prescribe me anything that would make me sleepy, He gave me 2 medications that did, one of them was a anti-convulsante which may be standard I wouldn’t know because he didn’t take the time to explained it to me. He spent 15 miniutes at best with me, no samples. I told him that I did not care what the medication cost if it would help me I would get the money. He ignored everything I asked and filled out on his 4-page register sheet. I took the meds for 15 days I became very depressed, I called his office they told me to come in, not having a 100.00 to come in right away I asked for him to call me back. I was patronized by his staff, telling them of my sever depression not one, not 2 but 5 times with NO call back. I am sure glad that I did not commit suicide it would have indeed been on Dr. Hawkins and his staff’s hands. He may be a good Dr. just make damn sure; you have insurance, because you will be treated like a third class citizen.
