My Mother passed away Jan.18th, 2016 after being at the Meadows for rehab after a surgery. She was 70 years old and had a progression of symptoms over the course of 3 days. My mother had very intense abdominal pain and severe nausea, coughing, shortness of breath, and confusion. It was a holiday weekend so a LPN only called a nurse practitioner who gave her an order over the phone for more pain medicine and nausea medication IM. No family member was notified during these days. Unfortunately, my mother was labeled as a non-compliant difficult patient who was said to be have been acting like a baby. After reading her charts while there- she was guarding, crying, moaning, refusing to eat, drink because she was gagging constantly. No doctor, RN, nurse practitioner saw her during the several does she was severely ill/dying. She was only sent to ER after we the family demanded it. Unfortunately, by the time she arrived at ER she was in septic shock from her infection because her instead time was dead. Unfortunately, we falsely felt she was in good hands. Had the staff been competent my mother may still be alive. I feel very sad that my mother was not only neglected, but humiliated by a very incompetent staff her last days. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother that we miss very much. I wish she never went there- biggest mistake of my life.

It is a lovely place and each person I've encountered has been wonderful. The problem is they are very short staffed at night and the coordination and communication between care staff is not good. If you have a loved one who needs an advocate and cannot speak for themselves or do for themselves, such as someone with an injury and in any stage of dementia, they will need a family member or caregiver there with them most of the time- especially nights and weekends.

No, they've never taken personal calls with me

A healing environment. From the time you enter the parking, wide open areas, a canopy for entrance. From the time you enter the lobby, with its seasonal decorations, the welcoming of the receptionist, the dining areas, and it invites families to eat, excellent food, the pt/ot room ranks as the best-the staff are excellent in teamwork approach in meeting the needs of its residents. The pt/ot room is inviting, a view to outdoors, BEAUTIFUL. The staff of pt/ot-go anywhere in the USA and match them, if you can. The activities offerred throughout the day, 7 days a week, spiritual and fun.
The nursing staff, excellent teamwork approach. Environmental services-neat, clean, tidy.
My 80 year old father was there for rehab to home through thanksgiving, first time in 57 years of marriage, he wasn't home with mother. The MEADOWS gift to us, he is home and doing well. We all credit the MEADOWS with their respectful excellent services they provided. Thank you , MEADOWS STAFF.

My father was placed on the "B" wing for memory care. We also coordinated with Alive Hospice. These organizations work wonderfully together. Like most other locations, administrative staff is hard to find on the weekend to give tours but other employees showed us around. Very clean (no urine smell) and everyone was friendly. Will be highly recommending to all who need their care. Knowing my father's passing was close, the dietary department brought us a tray of drinks, fruits, and muffins. Little kindness goes a long way at such an emotional time.
