My Mother was stayed in the San Gabriel Convalescent Center for 10 days. I am not happy with the services due to the day my Mother was sick in the morning when I came to see her before I went to work, The nurse told me the family doctor was on vacation and there was an on call doctor who will not come to see my Mother, but he will order the medicine for my Mother. However, my sister stayed with my Mother in the morning to 3:00 pm, there was no any medicine for my Mother. My Mother was on G-tube and it was disconected. My sister went to ask the nurse why the G-tube was disconected, she was very impatient and conected the G-tube for nutrition but she never returned to tell my sister when the medicine will be arrived. I was at work and I called around 3:30 pm, no one answer the phone and got hang up, phone got transfered all around, I had made at least five calls to 3:55 pm and finally I got the afternoon nurse, she told me the nurse in the morning shift was gone for the day and she did not know the status, she told me the medicine is not yet there and there is an order for X-ray. However, I got off from work and arrived the center around 6:50 pm, the social worker told me my mother already pass away at 6:22 pm and she already call my home. I am really don't know what happen? It is my opinion, the nurse in the morning shift did not care about the sickness of my mother. I was so regret that I sent my Mother to San Gabriel Convalescent Center. I was so sorry that I didnot have a chance to hold my Mother's hand at the time she was rest in peace. This is to advice if anyone have a love one, please be careful to select the convalenscent center. The center has a very nice lady who is very patient to help the senior to swallow foods and do exercises.
