This place has no business still being open . They have c-diff virus and don't tell you. It's been that way for years . They allow their patients to catch it to keep the beds full because everyone hates their incompetance and their lousy staff and wants to leave within days . When they get caught mis treating their patients - they cover it up and they lie to the health department probably with bribes.

All the fake positive reviews can't help their dismal rating . Don't send your loved ones here.

My father was there several months for rehab after colon surgery. I called the social worker and nurse asking that teach my father how to care for his colostomy bag and set up services for in home care when he got discharged. I live out of state and came to NY to pick him up when he got discharged. There were no services set up for him and the discharge paperwork stated no services were needed. He still did not know how to care for his bag. He said the nurses were inpatient with him and didn't bother to teach them and each one had a different technique. He also had an infection that started when he was there and required that I take him to an infectious disease specialist because it was not responding to antibiotics. When I took him to his surgeon for a follow up visit, the surgeon's assistant was able to set up in home care for him immediately which included a nurse to teach him how to manage his bag, a home health aide, and continued physical therapy. Clearly he was eligible and needed the services. I agree with the reviewer that stated that they will be sued because if I had not been there to care for my father when he was discharged something bad would have happened. They are negligent for discharging him with no services.

Absolutely horrible. Callous, and incompetent caregivers lacking in basic empathy toward their residents. You really get the feeling that the staff are there only collect a paycheck. Basically, this is a third-world facility operating in NYC. If you loved one gets sick, they are unlikely to discover the illness till it's dangerously late.

Please do not send your loved ones to this facility if you honestly care about them, you ultimately will regret it.

Do not send your loved ones to this facility. It is lacking in virtually all the important aspects you send them there for, too numerous to mention. Your mother or father goes in for a mild rehabilitation issue, falls not once but several times finally breaking a hip and leaves requiring surgery, a hospital stay, more rehabilitation, and a full time aide forever. Again, do not send your loved ones to Parker Jewish Institute.

My father was in Parker in his last illness. I have no idea what these people are complaining about. My father received great care, we were kept fully informed and, in fact, the care he received clearly extended my father's life in comfort and dignity. I think that is what it is all about. I can't speak to the others' missing clothes or refusal to answer questions. None of this was my experience.

Staff were miserable like the patients. Lack of TLC & short of staff. I transferred out after staying here for a week, a total lack of well being for patient. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. It was pretty hard to find the building, but I eventually found it. I would never refer any of my family and friends to go here. If I had know how terrible they were I never would have gone.
