The Medicare section for rehabilitation in ok. The skilled nursing side and floors is very scary. I would use this place as a last resort option.

If you are not happy with the care cant you just move your relative or take them home with you to ensure that they have the one to one care and hydration and every time they urine or have stool you can clean them promptly,,,being that im sure the nursing home is doing there best...food for thought to the frustrated and disgusted.

My father has been a resident for a few months now and this place has been a terrible disappointment. Visually, Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook is better than many long-term care facilities in that it appears tidy, and the staff give the impression of having compassion and understanding. Do not let them fool you.

If not for frequent family visits, my father would not receive any care at all. The staff makes no attempt to feed, clean, bathe, or clothe my father. Oh, sure, if walk him to the cafeteria, they'll put a tray of "food" in front of him, but they make no effort to get him to eat it (and he's not missing much -- the food is atrocious). They leave him in the same clothes day after day -- despite having a closet full of clean clothes -- and they don't even put Pajamas on him at bed time. He sleeps in his blue jeans and tennis shoes every night, usually sitting in a chair. It's bad enough that my father has to suffer the indignities of his condition but it's made worse by the lackluster care at Meadowbrook. As we have spoken to other visiting family members, we have yet to find ANYONE that is satisfied with the level of care their loved one is receiving at Meadowbrook. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The last two visits my father was soiled and his sheets were soiled also with fecal matter. No bed tray, so he could never have a drink of water...he says he is always thirsty. We have to go find a tray each time we are there and then put some juice so he can reach it. He can't get out of bed so he needs to be paid more attention to. He does not know how to use the tv remote so he always sits in his room staring into space. His bed is a crank type. His mattress moves around and we have to move it back in position because they do not. His IV pole was filthy along with he floor.

When we arrived at 11:30 am he was still in bed, unshaven, undressed and dirty. This happens more than it should. He won't eat the mush food because he says he just can't because he can't stand it....so I tasted it, and almost vomited, I believe my dogs food is better then that.

He eats and drinks because we bring him in food that has taste and appeal. So, he can eat, they just don't want to provide the time to find out what he would like to eat. That is probably why his bones are sticking out and is weight is about 80 Lbs. if you don't believe me go to room 222 and see for yourself...his name is Tom.

No, If I had known how terrible they were I never would have gone.

Definitely, they seemed irritated to work with anyone

Yes, I could tell they were cleaned regularly

Somewhat, they should have been more polite

Not at all! They were boring and outdated
