I THINK PROVIDENCE HOMESTEAD IS A VERY GOOD PLACE TO WORK. IT'S NOT WHAT IS ON THE OUTSIDE OF HOMESTEAD BUT WHAT IS ON THE INSIDE OF HOMESTEAD. IT IS FILLED WITH VERY LOVING RESIDENTS WHO MAKE OUR JOBS MORE FULFILLING AND PROVIDENCE HOMESTEAD DOES HAVE VERY CARING AND LOVING STAFF WHOM PROVIDES EXCELLENT CARE TO ALL OF THE RESIDENT'S. THIS IS THE RESIDENTS HOME WHEN THEY ARE HERE AND WE ALL STRIVE TO MAKE IT PERSONAL AND HOME LIKE AS POSSIBLE.

At our initial evaluation meeting the physical therapist told me we would need to "self pay" for my mother's care even though she had excellent insurance coverage. Then she assured me that my mother would be covered under medical reasons. After several weeks Homestead billed us for 10,500.00, saying that she did not need physical therapy services, although my mother was there because she had undergone surgery for a broken hip and the doctor had ordered physical therapy.

The staff related personal information to me about other residents. The administrator was uninformed about the staff's behavior and refused to believe reports.

I would never recommend this facility to any human being who cared about a family member who needed nursing care.
