This is one of the best well run facilities I've been in My mother receives excellent care
Very sweet and professional staff

This facility has excellent long-term staff members. I've been a frequent visitor there for several years and, while I see new faces often, the core nursing staff has been stable which lends itself to good quality care. The nurses know their patients and their patients' needs. They make every effort to promote good care with quality checks. A previous reviewer mentioned staffing shortage and there has been a recent turnover among the aides. I have every expectation that this problem will be resolved shortly though. This is a nursing home that strives for excellence and it is reflected in their yearly surveyor grades.

Have come here several times to visit a dear friend. Very disappointed by the lack of staff available, especially the aides. We have been told on several occasions that they are very short staffed, but when I have gone to the desk, the aides are sitting around talking. Many of the aides don't seem motivated or even interested in helping the patients.

The aides are not very friendly. The nurses are either passing out the pills or sitting behind the desk, you don't ever see them helping with patient care or just checking in on the aides. The supervisors rarely make any rounds, most always in their offices. Supervision takes the side of the staff rather than that of the patient even when the aide was found to be in the wrong. Just an unfriendly atmosphere, certainly not warm & fuzzy. Very poor @ answering call bells in a timely manner. Poor attitudes by aides & several nurses. This facility really needs a major shake up.

If you have a loved one @ this Nursing Home, I urge you to plan frequent, unexpected visits. That is especially important if your loved one has confusion or is otherwise unable to speak for him/herself.
Pay close attention to the personal care given. Are showers being done, are teeth/dentures being cleaned? Are they being changed when wet (especially during the night). Also, keep track of any personal care item you supply. If your family member is running out too quickly, it very well may mean that the item is being used on other residents. Keep any valuables @ home. If you wish to leave a special item in the room, lock it up ! If you see something that doesn't seem quite right, ask questions, find the Charge Nurse. Staying informed is essential. Keep a record of any problems you may have had. Write down the date/time & people involved. Who did you speak with & what was the plan of action that was going to be taken? Was the problem resolved? Please, if there is not a resolution to your problem, never hesitate to seek out the Director of Nurses &/or the Administrator.
Being your family member or your friends advocate is the best thing you can do.
