I agree it is an outdated facility and the management was dishonest IMHO. Our dad passed in there prematurely due to an infection he contracted there. Nursing staff (daytime) seemed adequate - we never met any of the night staff.

Avante at Roanoke is one of the best nursing homes in Southwest Roanoke VA.
We have excellent care for our residents up to and including Respiratory Therapy complete Vent Care Program and 24 hours/7 days a week nursing care.
We offer PT,OT, ST therapies
Please stop by and visit us at any time we welcome you to see for yourself.

I brought my father er here for rehabilitation after he had a triple bypass at Roanoke Memorial. The staff were excellent and attentive to my fathers needs, the nurses were knowledgeable and friendly and the therapy department was quite extraordinary. My father didn't want to go to a "nursing home" and we he walked out two weeks later with me he was almost in tears saying goodbye to his therapist Stacey. I would recommend this facility.

I would never recommend this facility to anyone. It is old, outdated, unclean and the nursing staff leaves a lot to be desired. My husband passed away there due to sepsis and I feel he contracted that infection due to the conditions of the place. When you walk in it smells of urine. Unfortunately it was the only facility who would take my husband because he was on a ventilator. More than once, the nurse dispensed his meds into his pic line and spilled half of it. Never corrected the situation. STAY AWAY.

The director was okay and wanted to ensure that our loved one would be in good hands but the staff,- nurses and cna's seemed constantly confused and rude. They acted like it was a hassle to take our phone call to check on our loved one who was unable to talk. The therapist seemed nice and wanted to help our love one improve. The social worker and the second shift supervisor was never aware of the improvements made of our loved one. Their communication was horrible!!!... I would not recommend this facility to anyone and can tell you I wouldn't put my ex neighbors cat who constantly scratched my vehicle up in this place!!!.....
