If I had to rate them on just their friendliness towards me I would give them the whole five stars alone. This was one of the warmest and most welcoming offices I've visited. My priority was my child's well-being and that was there priority too. I always have the best experience every time I have an appointment here. Although I have not had much to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation. They are completely committed to helping me as long as it takes to find the best solution. I never have to worry that they'll back out or give up if a solution isn't reached immediately, which has been a problem for me at other places. I could tell that they took pride in their quality of care given to their patients, once you enter into their office you are aware of the many children they have helped. I trust their services completely.

My daughter is an adult now, but was a patient of Dr Hittner's for 18 years. Dr Hittner is blunt, but always took the time to completely explain the surgical procedures to me and answer any questions I had. My daughter was 3 months old when Dr Hittner did the first of 5 surgeries on her eyes. I trust her ability completely. Her staff was always helpful and very efficient.

My son is legally blind, and I first saw Dr. Hittner when he was five months old.

Dr. Hittner may be well regarded in the medical community, but I find her very blunt and unsympathetic.

I would not recommend anyone to take their child to see her, unless you have extremely thick skin. She spends a short amount of time with me during each visit (I have seen her three times) and each time she makes me feel like crying.

When dealing with such serious issues as blindness of a child, it is important that the parents and patients feel comfortable with the doctor, and I am not comfortable with Dr. Hittner.
