I was referred to Dr. Herman to repair a stoma hernia and a prolapsed stoma. The hernia looked like a young woman's breast.
The colostomy had been a difficult experience for me. It was difficult to maintain and embarrassing when the bag spilled its contents.
I had been told by a Rochester affiliated doctor that I wasn't a candidate for a colon re-connection. He told me that even if I was successfully re-connected that I would have problems retaining my feces; I would have to wear a diaper.
So I came to Dr. Herman to schedule the stoma and hernia repair.
Dr. Herman simply asked if I wanted to be re-connected if it was possible.
I couldn't believe my ears. I excitedly said I would like to re-connected.
After a four hour surgery I was reconnected.
After months of healing and testing the connection was completed.
Never could I be more thankful for surgery Dr. Herman performed.
Here it is five and one half years since the completion of the surgery and I think how fortunate it was that I met Dr. Herman and how thankful I am that he performed the surgery.
Believe me freedom from a life without a colostomy bag is beyond description. . .

They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance. They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. They always make an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They always listen to every question or concern I may have.

No, They definitely believe in quality over quantity and allow more than enough time in between appointments
