After reading some of the negative reviews from previous posts, I don't get it. It is not that I doubt them, it's just that my experiences with Mid Cities Psychiatric Center have been exceptional. Naturally, all I can do is speak to my own experiences, and hold fast that my encounters will continue on par. Thus, here is how I perceive Mid Cities Psychiatric Center, Dr. Rousch, and staff: In early February 2017, I contacted Mid-Cities Psychiatric Center for an appointment. Their response time was more than expeditious (A+) and an appointment time for me was quickly secured (A+). There are so many reasons I am happy with this office. Let me explain. Okay, so returning my call quickly and scheduling my first appointment within a couple of days, was stellar. Convenience (A+). Their office is near to my home, it's easy to find, and easy to park. Pink (A+). The color pink represents caring, compassion and love. In particular, unconditional love and understanding. A sign of hope, pink is a positive color that inspires warm and comforting feelings. Bingo! That is how I feel when I am in their office. Warm, safe, comforted, cared for, and understood (A+). No waiting (A+). While there I have never sat in a "waiting room," I walk straight in, pay for my appointment, and go to the next room. The lily-pad room, with a blood pressure cuff (C+) and a scale (F-bomb). This room I HATE for obvious reasons. Doc, come on, there is no "good" reason, that I can think of to sling a scale under my plantar fascias. If I am not depressed when I arrive, I can get that way real quick, when I see "the escalator" scrolling up, up, up, and away. ;-) Okay, moving on. Now, I am in Dr. Rousch's office. I like it (A+). His office is large and has an angular shape to it. It is a modest, but comfortably appointed office. There is a sofa (I usually sit there) and a couple of chairs that are situated between the sofa and Dr. Rousch's desk. The chairs kinda act like a cushion or buffer between Dr. Rousch and myself. I am not certain why I always select the couch, but I do. I could sit at the desk closer to Dr. Rousch, but I don't. Hmmmm (?) interesting. I think at my next appointment, I will sit at the desk, closer to Dr. Rousch and switch things up a bit. Okay, moving on. I like Dr. Rousch (A+). I look forward to my appointments with him. Dr. Rousch, does not waste time and yet I never feel rushed. I feel welcome, comfortable, and able to speak freely without fear of him pushing the "panic button." While talking, listening, and asking questions, he clicks away at his computer, capturing the gist of our meetings. Stopping only occasionally to elaborate, delve deeper, or get clarification. When our sessions end, for me, there is a sense of productivity and accomplishment. That is a nice feeling.

Dr.Rousch is outstanding. However if you miss an appointment 1 time regardless of the years you have seen him. Not only will you pay the office visit. You will call standby, whatever that means. End up in the emergency room out of medication over and over. If and when you do see him. Dr.Rousch will tell you ( call him directly ) if you ever have a problem. Sounds great except you will never get past the office personal. There are federal laws against doctor abandonment. Not to mention charging your insurance and paying for the missed appointment. You would think they would be happy you missed. Due to charging you without doing a thing. I would never recommend him to anyone especially a friend. The best thing that ever happened to me after this treatment. Was to find a doctor who had a great staff. Making a mistake and writing down the wrong date is called life. Makes you wonder if the personnel has ever missed an appointment in life. WOW. If anyone mentions his practice RUN. Not because of Dr. Rousch. It's his front office. You have never been degraded until you do!
