I went to dr. Robinson because a friend of mine told me she would give a chance to have a VBAC birth following a caesarian. Well, so I thought. Three days before my due date, on my last appointment, I was running a little late, she had her secretary call me and left what was a threat to me on my voice mail stating that if I did not show up she would drop me as a patient. When I got there they played it off like they meant because they were worried about me. It did not take long before I found out what was already in the work for me. dr. Robinson already had plan paperwork for me to go pre-register for a caesarian birth two days later. She then told me that I will have to enter labor naturally by my due date in order for her to give a vbac a chance or it will have to be another caesarian birth. I told her I rather give the baby a chance to come when ready. Besides, none of my previous ever came by due date why would it be different for this one. I reminded to her that the only reason I went to her is because she agreed that she would let me have a VBAC. She strongly argued that there was a stipulation that I would have to have entered labor by due date. I told her I could not have agreed to that since I know that only 3% of babies come by the due date so why would I agree to such a thing and especially when all my previous babies came past due date. She insisted that that's what we had agreed on from the get go. “Whatever…” I told to myself. I asked for more time, she refused and told me she had called the facility at woman’s hospital and there are no open spot for surgery on days I wanted to wait until. I understood then that she had it all plan all along not to give me what I wanted because the more time I was asking the more reluctant she was to the idea of waiting. I told her I am not going under the knife just because I could not enter labor by due date. She told me to report to the hospital the next day for a Caesarian birth or she will have to release me as a patient for not complying with her diagnostic. I made my own researches online and found out that the ACOG strongly encourages Vbacs and that main risk she kept on hammering on as her bestselling point: the Uterine Rupture was less than 1% in all cases combined. http://www.midwife.org/documents/ACNMResponseACOGVBACRecommendations_Aug10.pdf. She insisted on the "danger" going past the due date putting me at risk of uterine rupture and therefore putting my life and that of my unborn child at risk. I stood my ground on not getting a caesarian birth and she carried out her threat by releasing me as a patient on my due. I asked for a copy of my medical file and a refund of my $710 which was my out of pocket I had already paid in full to cover the 20% the insurance was not covering. I got my medical file as for my money back she claimed she had not been billing my insurance so far and that she was now going to do so and they will let her know how much she is to pay me back. At that point, I had more important to worry about: finding a provider that will help deliver my baby via vbac when most providers would not take me that far into my pregnancy. I landed on a Midwife practice in Pasadena, TX: Bay Area Midwives. I told them about my ordeal and they immediately set a same day appointment; I and my husband drove to them about one hour from where we live. These ladies were "God Sent". They examined me, went over my medical file, took some blood and urine specimen, and gave me an ultrasound to check the baby's position. Two days later they came to my home check on me and confirmed I was a perfect candidate for Vbac, and that all we had to do from that point on was just to wait for the baby to come when ready. Exactly 7 days after my due date, I went into labor, a team of two midwives came to my home and safely delivered my 9 lbs healthy baby girl on Thanksgiving night. Everything went well and it was such a rewarding and dignifying experience. My best birth experience ever!

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. I was disappointed that their staff didn't seem to respect them very much. They weren't disrespectful but I could tell they didn't have a very good relationship. I didn't have to wait at all after I arrived for my appointment. They were running right on time, which is a really big deal for me. They've stayed open past their closing times many times when I've needed help. They've never turned me away when I've needed them. I wasn't too impressed with their level of service. It wasn't terrible but I think that I probably could've gotten better service somewhere else. When I called whom ever answered the phone was in the middle of a conversation with someone in the office and was complaining about the doctor being late for a surgery then she proceeded to say hello I was on the phone for a min or two then she sent me to a nurse who was with a patient and that nurse proceeded to tell me she doesnt give lab results when she is in clinic as if i were the one who called her directly it was very unproffesional

I gave all my symptoms to Dr. Robinson and she dismissed me and told me to take ibuprofen. A few years later I was unable to concieve so I went to another doctor and I recently was diagnosed with fibroids. Dr. Theresa Robinson NEVER took the time to research my symptoms and even laughed at me when I was trying to explain to her.

They made no attempt to follow up with me after my appointment. It isn't a big deal, but it does say something about the overall atmosphere of the office. Even though they had my information right in front of them, I kept having to explain it to them and remind them why I was there. She also has NO bedside manner.

They always have an immediate answer for me when I call with a question. They would never try to get me to make an appointment unless I really needed one. I am confident that I was called the minute my test results were ready-fastest I've ever seen. They were extremely polite on the phone as well. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous.

They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance. It is obvious that their office is cleaned regularly. It was fantastic. I didn't wait long at all. My appointment started on time, and the wait was much shorter than other offices I have been to. I love how attentive they are here. Even when notified that they have a personal phone call, they always wait to take it later. Their full attention is always on me and it makes me feel special.
