The office, bathrooms, waiting rooms, and examination rooms were all clean, well-lit, and had a calming yet welcoming effect. There was nothing so wonderful than Dr. Kuk's laughter, his calming nature, and the jokes he made to help lighten the mood, esp for first-time mothers and even more importantly - for 1st-time fathers. Even when the situation was frightening due to complications throughout a pregnancy, he retained his cool, calm demeanor. His ability to calm and give parents hope in the face of adversity from complications in the office to the delivery room, he had a magical way of giving parents hope when it felt as if all hope were lost. This man saved not only my life but the life of my oldest daughter. I'm not sure she would have made it into this world without his expertise, calm/cool head, and imaginative thinking that made it possible to bring that child into this world as safe and healthy as possible while calming me, as a 1st-time mother as well as my husband, a 1st-time dad. It's been my experience that men don't understand the fear of childbirth as it relates to high-risk pregnancies; hwr, Dr. Kuk is most certainly the exception to the rule. I couldn't imagine having made it through the delivery, esp w/the complications and with the use of Lamaze techniques learned from the Lamaze program offered & recommended by this OB/GYN. I'd recommend him for any woman at any state of pregnancy, incl the decision-making stage before becoming pregnant. He is the one who recommended Lamaze & I'm thankful to him for giving the nudge in that direction as it made a world of difference. My 23-year-old daughter is a happy, college-educated (3x graduate this spring) young woman who recently married this past October 2010, to a wonderful young man. I do hope Dr. Kuk is still practicing when and if they ever decide to have children though that is not something they are ready for yet and it's in the distant future but if the time comes, I hope he is the OB she chooses to have b/c he did such a wonderful job throughout my pregnancy w/her as well as the life-saving delivery considering the complications involved when I had doctors in various states I lived in who told me I would never have children & if I managed to become pregnant, I'd never carry to term. Dr. Kuk was instrumental in proving them wrong. Not only did I get pregnant but I carried to term & delivered a beautiful little girl who brought me such joy and happiness that it is impossible to put into words.
