I can only give a review based on my son's care. He is now deceased. I alerted Dr. Knudson's office that my son was not doing well. Never heard back. *Granted,* my son had not signed a waiver. BUT "Dr. K" spent less than two minutes with my son. Within one week of his last visit, my son had taken his life.
I have not heard from this "professional." I have more than one therapist working with me. I asked, "would you call the mother of a young man you treated to express your condolence?" I received a resounding YES. I don't think this doc cares much.

Dr. Knutson shocked the literal cap out of my brain for a long period of time and only stopped when he had me comic ted for being unresponsive. I only wish I could sue him for malpractice.

A total waste. He's a joke. He could not have rushed me in and out any faster. There was absolutely no regard for me on a personal level. It was down right unprofessional. Avoid seeing him at all cost.

I counsel against this physician, I was referred to him for treating my ADHD because of his neuroscience background (I also have epilepsy). Unfortunately, he grossly neglected his duties here, despite the well known complications and extreme dangers of shock withdrawing epileptic patients from drugs like amphetamine (which he prescribed), he recklessly issued paper scrips in advance (NOT THE ACCEPTED PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE OF WRITING FOR X-MONTHS WITH MONTHLY REFILL PENDING AUTHORIZATION) without any plans for when papers get lost. He transposes divergent non-related disorders despite a lack of evidence, I am a psych student and am familiar with the DSM and its APPROPRIATE APPLICATION, his approach does not seem to fit (being religiously observant and spiritually active is not evidence for ongoing evaluation for schizotypal disorder). For people who have simplistic or extreme cases he is a good doctor and very knowledgeable; however, if your situation is remotely complex and doesn't fit into his normal practice AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

DANGEROUS! Dr. Dean Knutson has sent a patient to shock therapy against will many times.

Dr. Dean Knutson uses a set of algorithms ( a mathematical set of questions) to question you during your appointments. If you try to converse with Dr. Kuntson outside of algorithmic questions, he will raze his voice over you in an attempt to intimidate you into go back to algorithm. If you don't immediately return to his algorithmic questioning, he will raze his voice to the point of abusively yelling at you!

Do not see this Dr. Dean Knutson DANGEROUS!

Please do not see Dr Knudon. I have never met with a doctor so disengaged. His assessment was made by reading an endless checklist of symptoms while stifling yawns. He made no real diagnosis, he wanted to just write a script and move along to the next person. The most disppointing doctor visits I have ever been to.

My experience was fair until now. I have felt rushed and basically that this was a cookie-cutter operation in that at each appointment, the same checklist questions are asked and new prescriptions written. I have some memory issues and managed to miss two appointments (reminder calls are spotty at best). Now I am out of a needed medication and have been told that I cannot get a refill until I see the doctor - the first available appointment is 2 weeks out. I left a message two days ago but he has not returned my call. There are no automated features such as e-mail reminders or the ability to pay bills online. The withdrawal from this med can be quite rough and I am having symptoms already. I feel rather helpless at this point - I missed the appointments, yes, but I really need help now, and all I can do is hope he will stop playing power games and get me enough of the meds to get through.
