DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!

I had a route canal done at Dr. Hartley's office in 2009. This year, my tooth fractured and the crown fell off. I made an appointment to have the dentist look at the work they did and recommend what to do. When I arrived, I was taken to see Dr. Brian Swanson. He was on his phone texting when I walked into the room. The entire appointment lasted less than 10 minutes, where in he looked at my tooth for around 30 seconds, and taking no x-rays insisted that I needed a $4,000 tooth implant.

Wanting a second opinion, I went to another dentist who took x-rays. He was shocked that Dr. Swanson did not take any x-rays and called it "extremely bad practice." He said that I when the route canal was first done at Dr. Harley's office, a file broke off into my route canal and now I have an infection that is eating away at my bone structure. He said I do not need an expensive implant, but rather a surgery called an apicoectomy to remove the inflamation. I forwarded my xrays to my parent's doctor who said the same as the second, that I have a broken file and was shocked at Dr. Swanson's bad practice and "pushing" of the implant.

His inept dentistry is not the reason for the one star rating, it is his inept patient care. I received a bill from him for $61 for a "limited oral exam." I don't know how much more limited this exam could have gotten. I asked him to dismiss the bill, as his exam was poor and the work was done at this office, so it should be a courtesy to examine their work for free and give me advice on my next step. You know, so I would actually want to come back.

This pompous Dr. Swanson said that he "can't give exams for free because he has student loans to pay" (yeah, he seriously said that...).

Dr. Swanson is a scam artist who only wants you money. He's a young doctor who, by his own admission, has student loans to pay. He will recommend you the highest-costing procedure and will not even look at his office's work for free if it goes bad within a few years.
