While waiting for my appointment, another patient walked in and the receptionist yelled at him for being late. Dr. Brown, yelled at me on one occasion. Dr. Brown did unnecessary dental work. He crowned a tooth that did not have a filling, perfectly whole tooth. He did a bridge and took out a healthy tooth. I let him because I trusted that he was doing the right thing for me. I know better now, too late.

Dr. Brown does good work as a dentist. Problem is, in my case, he wanted to do too much work.
Every time I went in he wanted to crown a tooth, or two teeth. I even had one tooth with no
decay. He took his explorer and put it against my tooth and said, see the hole forming there. We need to crown it. Like a compliant child I let him crown it, later thinking, why didn't he just fill the hole with a tooth colored filling? I had to have another crown and he told me the tooth next to it had gone bad and I would need a bridge. Once again, I complied. The tooth that had "gone bad" had never bothered me, but because he was a professional dentist, I believed him.
He yelled at me when I brought my 4-year old in for work. He yelled because I had asked my dr. to give her something to relax her. From my perspective, she needed the work, I did not want to have to pay out of pocket to go to a "specialist." He did the work and it worked out. I may have been wrong, but to yell at me was very unprofessional. I have seen his receptionist yell at people (I don't think she is there anymore). His other staff are very nice. Getting in was a problem too. I was in a lot of pain and he couldn't see me for two weeks. I called him at home and asked for pain killer, he told me I was interrupting his basket ball game. My son needed work, we were going out of town in two days and this receptionist was very adamant that he could not get him in. Dr. Brown felt bad about this one, said I should have talked to him. One time he had not finished working on me and he went home for lunch. He did come back when I asked the receptionist where he went. I finally got smart and found a different dentist. My new dentist has come in for me and my children after hours without complaint. He even filled a tooth with tooth colored filling that Dr. Brown had wanted to crown. And he did that without my suggestion.
