out of town, had a dental emergency when at another doctors appt and tooth cracked, fell out down to the gumline *top back tooth* and Dr. Lazarus was recommended. I had concerns as my preference is holistic and safe treatment. On one hours notice and never meeting me, she made time, twentyminutes later the tooth was "rebuilt" restored with a non toxic composite fill and out the door! Painless repair gave me full use of the tooth. She had compassion, expertise, and safe/ clean environment that was exceptional. I plan to go back for dental care. Very impressive, not a lot of frills and sales pitches- just very good care and felt in very capable hands. She also gave me some good health information.

Believe the reviews. Janet Lazarus is an AMAZING dentist. She took me on as an emergency new patient needing a 2nd opinion.
I was told the previous day, by a well know dental chain, that the ONLY solution to relieve my tooth pain, & swollen, bleeding gums, was to have 2 root canals, crowns, & a wisdom tooth extracted. I did not want the root canal option. I was then told all 3 teeth needed extracted immediately.
My appointment wih Dr Lazarus was not what I expected. I was braced to have extractions, & just hoped maybe it was only 1 or 2 teeth I would be losing.
I left Dr Janet Lazarus's office with ALL of my teeth, no pain, & no swelling of my gums remained. She used no drugs. She examined my mouth carefully, thoroughly, we did another xray because the xray taken at the other dentist's office were not good pictures.
Upon viewing her xray & gently poking around a but, she then asked me if she could do a cleaning, so she could get a better look directly at my teeth before deciding to extract anything. She was not positive I needed extractions and wanted a closer look.
Of course I agreed.
She is so gentle & thorough, it was my choice to not use any numbing gel on my gums. When she got to the sore spots, she again gave me the option to numb my gums. But I did not need it.
And I am a total baby about going to the dentist!

As I sat in the chair & she worked, my pain got less & less. She carefully removed what 4 orthodontists & several other dentists had left behind, & told me I had to live with. This was at the root of my problem, it was cement from braces that was 30 yrs old holding debris & causing my gums to become infected.
By the time she was done, I was completely out of pain. I asked her how this was even possible.
Aside from her being patient, thorough, having a VERY GENTLE touch, she uses ozone water in all of her procedures, for all of her patients. It's her standard protocol.
I did not know this going in, & I may not have believed the complete & total difference using ozone water makes, if it did not just happen directly to me.
Since I was in NO PAIN, not even gum tenderness, & my swelling was gone, we decided to wait & see if I really even need an extraction at all.
What did we actually find? I do need a few fillings, & I have some gum disease, she will reassess & we will work on the REAL issues at my next appointment.
If I did not go to her for a 2nd opinion, I would have lost 3 teeth to an unnecessary series of procedures.
I'm just so happy to still have all of my teeth & no pain, I almost forgot to state HOW GREAT my teeth now look - I have never seen my teeth without that cement from my braces in 30 years. While it was clear, it was discolored, on front & back teeth. I was told by each dentist I saw it could not be removed, a few tried & failed.
She was confident in her skills to remove it, & it did not hurt one bit. I am now proudly smiling pearly whites & I didn't need bleached.
I am so thankful to have found her, which was through this site & vitals.com, & the reviews of others before me.

After dealing with a toothache for a couple days I developed swelling on the side of my face on a Friday. I called many Dentist offices but no one could get me in until the following week. I was very worried about infection and felt that was too long. Luckily, I found Dr. Lazarus who was able to get me in on a Saturday within 20minutes of taking my call.
She confirmed I had tooth decay causing infection and prescribed antibiotics and scheduled me for an extraction.
Dr. Lazarus made me feel very at ease and pulled out my molar without causing me pain.
I have not known any dentist as caring and compassionate as she, not to mention her knowledge and skillset.

I went in because I cracked a filling, but I was told I had another bad tooth after an x-ray. So Dr. Lazarus removed the bad tooth. Apparently, I had been stressing over this tooth without realizing it. The next morning I awoke feeling wonderful, calmer and as if a weight had been lifted. All from removing a bad tooth that I didn't even know had gone bad. That is amazing. Dr. Lazarus also fixed my cracked filling so my teeth are feeling great and so am I. Thank you

I have a history of anxiety when going to a dentist and Dr. Lazarus was highly recommended by my nutritionist. When I walked through the door I knew she was the one who could help me. She has been extremely patient & understanding with me, she talks to me in a relaxed manner and it almost makes me forget I'm having dental work done. She actually LISTENS to her patients unlike other dentists. She has helped me with extractions, removing an old bridge and fitting me with partials. Her work has been excellent. I highly recommend her & her staff.

Excellent!! After being to a slew of dentist who have basically set me up for more misery, it was a great relief to finally find a holistic dentist who treats causes rather than just symptoms. Her tooth extraction was gentle and painless right down to the novacaine injection. She and her assistant are a great team. Her office and personality are warm and welcoming. She is forthright and honest and spent time with me. Not scurrying back and forth between patients. Drive 2.5 hours to see her and was WELL WIRTH THE TRIP!! have scheduled a second appointment. Fluoride and mercury free at last!!

I was searching for a biological and holistic dentist in the Pittsburgh area am so thankful to have found Dr. Lazarus. She is professional, compassionate and kind. She uses a complete different approach to wellness than what you usually find in a conventional dentist office.

She was able to undo years of health problems I have had due to toxic dental treatments, by replacing my toxic mercury dental fillings with bio-compatible and non-toxic materials.

Her office is warm and inviting. My husband and I had such great experience. Dr. Lazarus exceeded our expectations. She is not only a great holistic dentist, she is also a wonderful person that treated us with kindness and compassion.

I recently decided to have my mercury fillings removed and a friend recommended Dr. Lazarus. I am a difficult patient for dentists but the Dr. and her assistant were very patient, understanding, compassionate, and professional. I am very happy to have all of the mercury removed from my teeth, and I feel better already. My wife is going to have hers removed also, and we are considering making the trip twice a year for cleanings. I highly recommend Dr. Lazarus. As a side benefit, you get to pick the music for your appointment. It's the first time I got to listen to the Allman Brothers while having my teeth worked on!
