I regret the day I walked in the door of this office. Today I suffer from depression over my experience with Cooper Oral.
The procedure (Ameloblastoma Resection) that was supposed to leave me looking normal with minimal scarring and numbness that I was told would be the width of an index finger was all false. There is also an issue with my bite, which I was told was an existing cross-bite by the Doctor.
Today I look like a freak due to the fact that the device they put into my face breached my lower left jaw leaving a hole in my face. The surgery to fix this issue left me with a large lump on the left side of my jaw and a big gash where the hole was. I am also numb from my neck to my lower lip on both sides of my face.
The doctor tried to convince me that the abnormality is due to jowling because of my age (65). I
have pictures before and after the resection and before and after the attempted insertion of this device that will show that the deformities were caused after the 2nd surgery. I also have an identical twin brother that does not have this sudden jowling look. Both my dentist and I know that I did not have a cross-bite prior to the surgery.
The office staff was for the most part was a pleasure to deal with except for the person interfacing with the insurance carrier. I was lied to about getting confirmation for an expensive office procedure. After convincing her that this was medical and not dental, I was called later that day after an office visit and told that Cigna approved the pre-determination. Later on after the procedure was performed, I found out Cigna was never contacted and refused to pay the claim. I had to prove that this was related to the original medical claim and got it resolved.
There are countless other negative things I can write about my experience with Cooper Oral, but when it comes to their professionalism, they dropped the ball in regards to me and left me with severe depression.

I usually have to wait on hold for quite a while, but not as long as some other places

Cooper makes up dishonest charges and tries to submit them to your insurance. I called with an emergency tooth extraction. They made an emergency appointment the same day but when I saw them, they told me my blod pressure was too high and told me to go home. They then decided to bill my insurance as a check up. My insurance denied it because I only get one check up every 6 months and I already had one a month earlier with my dentist, which they are not. They refuse to change what they submitted and now my account is in collections. They aren't very nice either. Don't go to them, there are plenty of other oral surgeons around
