I had a tonsillectomy done (as an adult) by Dr. Baker. The day of surgery he didn't come to see me beforehand and I was told it was because he was very busy. After surgery, I was concerned about nausea and had been told at my office consultation that I'd be given a prescription for liquid anti-nausea meds. I have to be careful as I have epilepsy and vomiting is a seizure trigger for me. The nurse was unable to get the prescription from Dr. Baker, as he was still "very busy" with surgeries and unable to write it. He also couldn't talk to me or my husband afterward. She told me to just take my anti-nausea pills that I had at home already, but I wasn't to have anything solid so that wouldn't be possible. I felt they brushed off the seriousness of a possible seizure. A week after surgery, I was back in the ER and had to undergo emergency surgery for a blood vessel that the emergency surgeon said had been leaking. I'd called the office a few times about pain and a "tickling" feeling in my throat and each time was told that it was going to hurt and there was nothing to worry about. When I went for my follow-up office visit, I didn't get to see Dr. Baker, just a nurse practitioner. I'd heard nothing but good things about this office before my experience, and the staff of nurses and receptionists are wonderful, but if my children ever need tonsillectomy I will take them somewhere else.
