Very Professional, congenial practice. It was a great experience from the phone call, the greeting at their windows, to sitting down with the insurance person trying to figure out how my insurance was going to work and booking my surgery.

I had some extraction work done at Salem Peabody Oral Surgery on January 9, 2014 and the service was good. The oral surgeon did a very nice job. However, their office practices have been very disappointing. My health insurance which covers this procedure was in the process of being approved. At the office’s suggestion I opened up a Care Credit Card and charged the procedure which was $375.00. When I returned home later that afternoon my mail had arrived and my health insurance had gone through and dated back retroactively to the beginning of the month. I then brought my health insurance information which fully covered the procedure to the oral surgery office the very next day. They told me “No problem, we will run this through your health insurance right away and credit your credit card.” Two weeks later there was not a credit on my card so I called my insurance company and they informed me that the oral surgery office never submitted the bill to them as they told me they were going to do. I then called the oral surgery office and told them the bill was never sent to my insurance company. There answer to that was, “Well at least there is no interest on the card for a little while.” I was shocked at this attitude and offended. I told them that they need to send the bill immediately. I then followed up with my insurance company the following Monday and they told me that they had received the bill and the full payment to the oral surgery office had been approved. I then followed up with the oral surgery office to confirm that my credit card was being credited. The woman in the office who was extremely rude told me that they would be crediting my card in about 2 months. This is unacceptable. They are holding my money hostage. In the span of 2 months I will have two monthly minimum credit card payments due on a charge that my insurance company is paying for and has already approved payment on. So if they ever do get around to crediting my charge card I will have a credit on a charge card that I will never have to use because my health insurance has gone through. Anyway you look at this Salem Peabody Oral Surgery is double billing. They have charged my credit card and have my money and they have also billed my insurance company who has approved a payment to them. I find these business practices to be completely unethical and morally deplorable as they are just increasing their cash flow at my expense.

My husband had a 9AM appointment on March 8th to have several teeth extracted. he had to stop some of his meds a few days before and fast after midnight for day of surgery. Its not that easy to fast when your a diabetic.got a phone call that morning at 8AM stating they had to change the appointment to the following week.No direct answers but after asking many questions finally admitted that they forgot to book the room they use for sedation..only one hour notice!!! we both changed our work schedules, i had to find people to cover for me at work.can not just change our work schedules that easily.. company my husband works for was paying the difference that dental insurance didn't cover but company now with new owners without that benefit.. Benefits changed March 11th...will find another oral surgeon and hopefully their staff will know what they are doing..still waiting for them to send my records.. still angry about this.got no apologies.

Very disappointing. They wanted to see a picture ID. I had an 10:10 appointment and I was still sitting in the waiting area at 11:00. Receptionist offered the usual silly excuses of physicians who are not capable or willing to properly plan / schedule. I could not agree more with the feedback of Mary B.
I will take my business elsewhere. Arrogant suckers.

I would not recommend Salem-Peabody Oral Surgery because of a recent experience I had with their office staff. I showed up to a 12 p.m. appointment at 11:45 to fill out paperwork and was told by the receptionist that my appointment was at 11:45 and that I would need to come back after lunch, which was over an hour later. I pulled up the email confirmation on my phone to show the receptionist that the appointment was for noon, and that I was, in fact, early for my appointment. She just said "I'm sorry. You'll just have to come back after lunch". I will be taking my business elsewhere, because clearly this office does not respect the time of their patients.
