Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. They make sure to treat all their clients equally and without favoritism. It's nice that it doesn't happen here. There was available parking at their office. It was so nice to arrive and see many qualified staff members. Dr. Dean had a great staff though, and I'll definitely be going back. I didn't have to wait at all after I arrived for my appointment. They were running right on time, which is a really big deal for me.

No service after the sell. My insurance and I together paid almost $1,800 for a (removable)partial on which a tooth broke off very soon after getting it. I took the partial back and, rather than send it to the lab for repair, Dr. Dean made his own repair in the office. I see now it was merely a temporary fix until he could get all his money. Now, less than 2 years later, the SAME tooth broke again and Dr. Dean wants another $180 to repair it. AFTER the tooth broke the first time, Dr. Dean indicated he thought a bottom tooth that was hitting the partial when I chewed was too high and causing too much pressure on the upper partial. WHY wasn't this addressed and FIXED prior to providing the bridge to me? If not then, why was it not taken care of after the tooth broke off the partial to eliminate it happening again?

Initially Dr. Dean wanted to do a "fixed bridge" and I agreed to that. However, when he entered the examination room to begin, Before allowing him to proceed, I asked that he check the integrity of the tooth to which the bridge would be joined. He agreed and, following x-rays, returned to tell me "I'm sorry to tell you but that tooth is not strong enough". Had I,THE PATIENT, not given him guidance, that would've been almost $3,000 DOWN THE TUBES.

There doesn't seem to be enough evaluation put into his decisions......at least, not in MY case. It's almost like he sees the chance for big bucks right now with little or no regard to the consequences for the patient; neither physical or financial.

My daughter just called to say she's had a tooth absess TWICE since Dr. Dean did a root canal and crown on her tooth. She opted to see another dentist and was told the crown was "too short", and sat a fraction of an inch too high causing the absess. She's now having to spend more money to try and save this tooth.

PLEASE, if you read this and there's a large amount of money to be spent (whether by you, your insurance company, or a combination)get a second opionion before proceeding. It could SAVE lots of dollars, pain, and maybe even your tooth/teeth!

My mission is not to slam the dentist. I just want to relay this experience which is what I'd want to know when I check out a doctor or dentist.
