I have been seeing Dr. Gaunt for some time now and absolutely love her and the staff at the office. Always friendly, quick to return phone calls and very knowledgable. Would definitely reccomend her to anyone looking for a new OB/GYN in this area.

Incredible office! Have been a patient of Dr Gaunt's for several years. She always takes time to make me feel like I am the only patient. Have been so impressed with her office that I have referred some of my friends.

I have had so much trouble with this Dr’s office & it was my mother whom recommended it.
I only went there one time, 1/11/10 when I had no health insurance and needed to know if I was pregnant. I went in for a urine test and a yearly gynecological exam/pap. I was positive for being pregnant and was then charged for a pre-natal exam.

I was told that for ‘self pay,’ (read CASH), that there would be a 20% discount applied to the bill, this was before I had even set up the appointment. When I was paying for my visit I was a little overwhelmed by the news and didn’t ask for the 20% off as I assumed they would take it off for all self pay patients. I was not given that discount at the register and had to pay $275.00 that day. Then I had to call the billing department to get the refund check sent to me. (Which they DID. Thank you.)

During this first meet and greet with the Dr. I was never informed that they ONLY give birth out of HINSDALE hospital, or that using the pap specimen there would be additional tests run on the sample.

After the office visit I received 2 bills from Quest: one for $90 for the pap; which I paid knowing that it was needed and an appropriate charge. The second (the one I have been disputing since January), $160 for 2 STD tests because they require them to give birth at Hinsdale Hospital.

Had I known Hinsdale Hosp. was the only option to give birth at I could have informed the Dr. that it would be impossible for me to give birth there as I was moving into the city of Chicago. Had I known about the additional tests they are required to take I would have asked they not be run, seeing as they are for giving birth at the hospital I would not be able to give birth at. I was never told about the additional tests and have called several times to both Quest and the Dr’s office to see if they would waive this bill for tests I feel were unfairly administered. Quest keeps putting the bill on hold for me and updating their notes to show I’m disputing this with the Dr’s office. Both Dr. and the billing department have not been helpful at all. They fail to return calls. They say they are leaving the bill on the Dr’s desk and I get no response. There is no way to actually talk to the Dr about this bill because, “Doctors do not deal with the billing aspect” and billing department and the receptionists keep saying "there is nothing we can do for you."

I have asked the Dr’s office to waive this bill or pay it themselves because I feel it was wrong that I was not informed of these tests before I received the bill in the mail.

As of today 4/23/10 I just got a fax from billing showing me my Registration Slip, this has my signature under the bold “I authorize the physician to release any information required to process insurance claims. I am financially responsible for non-covered services.” My question now is, does this statement include tests run while the patient/client was not informed?

I am still fighting this bill.
