In March of 1997, Dr Balliro, a pioneer in laparoscopic procedures, removed my gall bladder. I went home that same afternoon - a first for that hospital. He probably will not remember me but I certainly remember him.
He was there pre-operatively, he was there in the OR, he was there in the recovery room, and he was there that afternoon when he discharged me from the hospital. That was long ago and far away but I will never forget the time and care I received from that man.
