1. When I asked him if he would let me participate in deciding what medications to take, he said, rudely, "Well, as long as you're not being nutty."

2. When I told him what I was taking--which had been prescribed by a rather well-known and well-trained doctor in Providence, R.I., he made a sneering face and said "Hm! That's a LOT of Klonopin!"

3. After taking my family history (and mental illness runs in my family, as it does in the families of many mentally ill people), he looked at me, waited, and when I admitted, "Well, I guess I have a bit of a crazy family," he said, "I should say so!"

4. I had had enough of him by the third session. I paid my co-pay in cash, with a $20, and he pulled out his wallet with such violence, saying, "Let's just settle this right NOW!"--I thought he was going to throw the $5 bill at me.

See Berger if you like to be abused.
