This physician operated on me 10 or 12 years ago and destroyed my septum - I mean destroyed it beyond repair. It started with a small perforation but he thinned the septum so much that when I went through chemo, which temporarily dries out your mucous tissue, the hole grew until I have no septum left in the lower portion of my nose. It has created oral dryness that in turn has led to tooth decay and I am now bearing the cost of dental implants as my teeth are trashed as well. Do not let this doctor perform this procedure on you. The only thing I know is he was running late the day of surgery and I've always wondered if he rushed the procedure. Unfortunately Colorado has a law that requires you to sue within 24 months of any incident of malpractice and by the time the hole grew to this size, I had just finished my chemo and didn't even know if I was going to live to see another year. I had one month left on that two years when I saw an ENT at University Physicians and emotionally wasn't in any shape to pursue a malpractice claim. But to this day I regret not doing that. I've never sued a doctor in my life and cut him some slack on the small perforation, but the condition of my nose today and it's effect on my overall health is criminal. Is he a nice guy, yes. Is he a compassionate doctor? Yes. Would I let him touch me again? Heck no.
