Our family was blessed to have Dr. Steever as our family doctor for more than 30 years. He helped with both my childbirths. He is at heart a small town doctor who took on some big city ways as Santa Rosa grew over the decades. I miss being able to call him in the morning, yes he would answer the phone himself. You always got seen that day. He didn’t fuss. He didn’t miss. He understood medicine without all the fancies. Our family of four survived every medical curveball Life dealt during that time. He was the best doctor we’ve known.

A brilliant, kind human and doctor, he was a voice of reason and good sense. I was a patient of his between 30 and 40 years ago. He shines compared to every other doctor I've seen since. A genuine love and forgiveness for human frailty pervaded his advice. Often, Dr. Steever prescribed a book instead of medicine. There are so few humans of his caliber on this planet; I wish he could clone himself.

Dr Steever was my families doctor from the early 1980's to 2000. He many times helped my husband, myself or my three sons over the years.
He really listened no matter how busy his office was. He didn't throw pills at problems but always looked for the source of the problem. In a way he was more of an "old fashioned" doctor in that respect, "first do no harm" which he always did for my family for almost twenty years. I really appreciate all the time he took and I am so glad we had him as a doctor.
My boys grew up healthy and happy and never over-medicated! :-)
